A sneaky overnight stay for our Anniversary! It was wonderful, warm and speedy welcome, straight up to the room. Everything you could wish for, clean, well decorated, great view. Champers outside on the newly built veranda, then pre dinner drinks in the bar. The restaurant was busy but the service was not compromised in anyway. Food was amazing we had the full taster menu with the wine flight and it was all perfect! We are big foodies, been to some great restaurants but I really loved it here and we will be back.

My wife booked a surprise stay at Northcote along with a gourmet meal for our silver wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time.

We stayed in room 19, one of the newly built bedrooms (see photos). We always get a great greeting whenever we stay here and this time was no exception. Luke looked after us really well. I always love the extra touches; complimentary soft drinks in the fridge, lovely biscuits to have with tea or coffee and a small bottle of real milk. There's also a blu ray DVD player and a Bose radio and CD player.

The bathroom had both a separate bath and a shower cubicle. The bath even had a small shower head so it's easy to wash your hair.

We had a walk out into the kitchen garden and saw the fresh produce they grow including artichokes, celery, sweet corn, grapes and more. It was great to sit on the new terrace and have some pre-dinner cocktails.

The five course gourmet menu prepared by Lisa Allen and her staff was wonderful so tasty with some fantastic taste combinations. The waiting staff are so professional, but also friendly and helpful. Its always a sign of a great place when you see the same staff as on a previous visit (no high turnover of staff here). Especial mention to Adam, Juliette and Tomas.

Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Again wonderful, friendly staff.

Its always a real delight to stay here.

I had a brief one night stay here in July 2014 (room 19). The room was large, with an excellent modern walk-in shower, desk and chairs. Bedside lighting was via one of those excellent flexible spotlights, and the bed was comfortable. Wifi was fine, and there were plenty of electrical sockets at desk level. The restaurant has a Michelin star and is excellent, staff friendly. There is a pretty garden terrace looking out over the Ribble valley.

This was our third time eating at Northcote and our second time staying over, once again the service was friendly and not stuffy in any way, every staff member goes out of their way to make your stay as special as possible. The 7 course tasting menu was sumptuous as always, top marks to nigel, lisa and craig and everyone else behind the scenes. The rooms are lovely with everything you could want. To top the weekend off the breakfast in the morning was brilliant (though I would like the eating time to be a little bit later than 09:45 for the last sitting.....especially when you have been sitting in the new cocktail bar till all hours the night before). thanks for making our anniversary special and see you again next time.

Room Tip: all the rooms are great

One word sums it up - amazing. Beautiful luxurious rooms with all needs catered for - food out of this world - 7 course taster menu where I ate things I would never normally have ordered but enjoyed so much - service was faultless. Breakfast the following morning was anything and everything you wanted again with faultless service - the added pleasure of seeing Lisa at check out was an added bonus as hubby a major fan. Expensive but worth it - wish I could afford to go more often.

Room Tip: Our second visit to Room 11 but all equally gorgeous I'm sure

We did a Gourmet package for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for our Wedding Anniversary. Quite outstanding. Beautiful setting in countryside. Has recently undergone major upgrade in most areas and now well deserves it's latest award.. Rooms were spacious,Luxuriously appointed with every possible detail catered for. Bathroom equipped with first class toiletries and had excellent lighting.(for a change!). Huge Superking bed was a "dream cloud" and all fitted with very superior linen.

The Michelin starred Restaurant is truly excellent. Nigel was unfortunately not on duty as he was a bit "jet-lagged" after returning from Brazil!! However, the very talented Lisa took care of us splendidly. We started with Louie Roderer Champagne and hot Canapes in the bar. All the food was imaginative, tasty, beautifully cooked and presented - what was not to like? Truly a gourmet Feast. The Sommelier (a recent Award Winner in his own right) was most helpful and his advice certainly enhanced the enjoyment of our meal. We relaxed out on to the beautiful terrace overlooking the gardens for our coffee and handmade petit fours. These were presented on a specially decorated plate wishing us a Happy Anniversary. A perfect way to end an English summer's evening.

Breakfast was an added pleasure. No ghastly lukewarm buffet. Everything cooked to order and served on piping hot plates along with lashings of freshly brewed (own blend) long leaf tea, and choice of hot toast. The gorgeously chilled freshly squeezed orange juice really set one up for the day. All food is sourced as locally as possible and is naturally of first class quality. Frankly, one would be going some to better dining and staying in this wonderful hotel We enjoyed every minute of it and frankly in our view deserves a Second Michelin.

Room Tip: Number 16 is the BEST
