“Great personal service”
Reviewed 10 November 2011

My girlfiend and I stayed at The Avenue for a night in April as we had booked for a meal at the nearby Northcote restaurant.

We found there was ample parking, athough we were a bit confused as there are two buildings to the hotel and we went to the wrong one at first, this turned out to be the bar / restaurant.

The staff on the reception were really nice and helpful and showed us to our room.

We were really happy with the room as it was very clean and looked newly renovated to a very high level.

Breakfast was served a short walk across the carpark in the annex building. The food was very nice and cooked exactly to everyones individual requirements. It was a really friendly personal service.

The reception sold a few essentials such as drink, snacks etc which were at normal prices...not the inlflated prices you get in some hotels.

One of the owners of the hotel showed us ther newly refurbished TV lounge which had a bookcase full of DVDs and books you could borrow during your stay.

Unfortunately we didn't get time to explore the area around the hotel, but it looked really nice.

The hotel is going through some refurbishment but as a guest you would not notice. The staff are extremely friendly, the rooms have everything you need and the breakfasts were lovely. Just be aware reception closes at 8pm so you will need to check in to get your key beforehand. Fantastic price, would definitely recommend.

Booked this hotel through laterooms, were a bit wary because it was 2 stars, but the pictures online looked lovely , so we thought we would give it a go. Well we were glad we did, the only reason it is 2 stars is because there is no one on reception until midnight. The room was lovely, everything you need, even an iron and ironing board. Staff are lovely, and very helpful, nothing was a bother to them. In your room there is even a list of local eating places for you. This hotel is under new management, and we really wish them well, You do have to walk to another building to have breakfast, sounds funny, but really no hassle, and well worth the walk, it is a lovely breakfast, and I also agree good quality produce used. I agree the road can be busy, but it would not put me of returning.

Stayed here for one night and dined at Northcote (which was amazing, btw). Paid £70 for a suite and have no complaints at all - spacious, nicely decorated (if a bit 'business'), great bed. Great to have the two separate rooms.; Staff very friendly and helpful.

The bar was being renovated while we were there, but you can buy beer, wine and snacks behind the reception.

We were going to a party in Clitheroe so booked in for a night. We booked a suite, which was very spacious, clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We ate in the restaurant, which is a separate building. The food was usual bar meal type food, but was good value and we had no complaints at all. The breakfast was more than adequate. We found it very quiet.
We booked direct with the hotel by phone, which was cheaper than on laterooms.com.
Be aware that the reception is not manned 24 hours.

Amazing value if you are just looking for a comfortable room to stay for a night or two. We stayed for two nights whilst attending family do's over the weekend. Good taxi service in the locality.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Very helpful & friendly staff. Breakfast can be taken at the bar / restaurant next door. Not the best food or service - but still good value for a full english breakfast for £5.00 each. It still helped the hangover!
Would recommend if you are after a travel inn style room in the area.
