booked family room for sat night. was warned be band on, wasnt warned would be under us. wasnt too bad as we were expecting this. wasnt expecting to listen to all smokers outside our window till 2.00ish. then staff members till 4.00am. as windows wouldnt shut properly and no curtains in bathroom. finally got to sleep after loads of doors slamming. breakfast bacon and toast was overcooked. we were charged 85 pounds for our so called family room. we will not be returning with our 5 & 2 year olds.

We have visited the Globe on many occassions and must say that the Sunday roast is excellent, you can have as much or little as you want as it is carvery style.... after a brisk walk around Sunderland point it is just what the doctor ordered!!

We had a lovely lunch whilst waiting for the tide to turn so that we could cycle to Sunderland Point. Overton village is picturesque, often frequented by walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The Globe has a spacious garden, with play area and outside seating. The menu has a wide choice of dishes, with a carvery on Sundays. We opted for freshly filled baguettes with lots of salad garnish and we were served with a smile. Local produce and local beer. Highly recommended.

We recently went walking down to Sunderland Point and ended up at the Globe in Overton for lunch. I had the steak and ale pie which was excellent, my wife tried for the gammon which was off the menu and ended up with mushroom straganoff which was 'OK' but nothing too outstanding. Particularly pleasing was the excellent, clean Gents which seems to be an increasing rarity these days. Overall pretty good value.
