Excellent Food, in a lovely restaurant and surroundings.

Lots of very friendly and attentive staff, nothing was to much for them, which was great to see considering how busy it was.

Enjoyable meal, with lots to choose from on the menu. We will recommend to our friends and family.

I was one of 7 friends from all over Lancashire and live near Accrington. We met at the spread eagle on Thursday Afternoon. Although the organiser had booked when we arrived the table was bare! The sandwiches were poor and ungarnished. One triangle was missing and we had to point out. There were 3 scones and 3 cakes of 3 types- two sponges and an Eccles cake for 7 of us! Waitress told us to cut them in half if we wanted one each and what does the 7th person do we asked!, The tea went cold as we waited that long and they charged us £10.65 for second cup! It worked out at £15 per head. We wished we had gone to a nice cosy pub for a hot lunch-- what a rip off. The staff never even apologised for their incompetence.

The dining room is perfect, the food is perfect ,the view from dining room perfect too.Staff are very friendly.Good selection of both food and wine.Very good atmosphere ,even though it was very busy there wasn't any rush with our meal.
What else can be said ? Nothing I think.

Having been recommended to stay here whilst on business in the area,I arrived mid-afternoon after a tiring journey to find no obvious reception area and no one appearing to be in charge.I felt like an unwelcome intruder into the business of the place.Despite having booked a couple of weeks earlier they seemed surprised to see me but was eventually taken to my room. This turned out to incredibly noisy due to the loud noise from the extractor fans in the kitchen below. When I complained I was told to shut the window( it was a warm day) and switch on the air conditioning.I tried this but found it was not working.I complained again and someone came up and tried to make it work without success.I asked for another romm and was told that the hotel was full.I persisted and was showmto another room which seemed much better.Lying to guests is not a good idea! THe new room was better but had faults which could easily be rectified with a little care. They in cluded wonky sink taps,a toilet flush handle which fell off,no light( broken) by which to shave,no hot water when I awoke the next morning and no heat from the radiator. The telephone system had ancienr illegible notices on it so that contacting anyone was pure guesswork.
On the more positive side the restaurant meal was quire good,if a little overpriced, and breakfast was fine..
This is probably the most critical review I have ever posted and I hope that this establishment, beautifully situated, and with great potential, will take steps to put things right for future guests.

Went to a wedding here in December – the whole venue was decorated beautifully and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Starters of smoked salmon, main of duck and a pudding that was citrus tart – the only down fall was the pudding it was too torte it was hard to eat and just not very nice. Although one thing out of 100’s really lovely day and thank you again!

We stayed in one of the rooms with the best bath tub ever - breakfast was fab too - really exceptional!!!

A HUGE thank you to Natalie and her Team for helping to make my husband's birthday celebration an absolute fabulous time. We were a party of 13 and the entire weekend was outstanding, professional, and just perfect. All of our meals were superb! (-presentation, quality, and taste 10/10) The spacious, comfortable rooms are so tastefully done with gorgeous views and include everything you could want including robes, tea/coffee and even fresh milk. The staff were always polite and nothing was too much to ask. The location is perfect for wanting to get away to the countryside for rambling walks yet close to shops. Our family still raves about what a wonderful time they had and can't wait to come back. Definitely recommend!!!
