My husband and i stayed here on Saturday 16th Nov on a DBB deal for £80. We arrived in our room which was very very basic more like a hostel than a hotel. The whole hotel is dirty and standards are low.
The TV in the room only had a few channels and the window frame in the room had been damaged and not repaired properly.
My husband and i went down to eat at 7pm and we were the only people in the dining room.
The carvery in the evening was very strange and consisted of a turkey joint, meat balls, fish gougons and strange veg. The soup for starter was okay and the chocolate cake.
There was no atmosphere and feel it is a poor hotel. We didnt use the pool or gym as you had to pay extra and we felt it should have been included in the price. This hotel is not a patch on Daresbury park i had a great time there a few weeks back. Shame because it is the same company.
A disappointing stay and should have stayed at home.

I have stopped at this hotel in the past and was really disappointed at the stay, after a second time around i was really surprised, very helpful staff, i wouldn't say it's the most cleanest of hotels but it was OK. The room this time was massive with a king size bed for the price of a double bed. The breakfast was a buffet style, this appears to the norm in Britannia's hotels but never the less it was quite good and worth the extra £5 per person. Based on my past stay at another Britannia hotel which could only be described as awful, this hotel is on the complete opposite. Very helpful and friendly staff and good food. The hotel was very quite on a night there was the odd door banging sound but this was not an issue. The location of the hotel is quite good if you are coming from the motorway as it is only a couple of minutes away. I would recommend this hotel based on this visit as it certainly has turned itself around.

Unfortunately this is my first negative review that I have posted I think!

The rooms in this place are ridiculous! The carpets are dirty, the beds are uncomfortable, the noise around the corridors of banging doors is really bad! The lights in the corridors do nothing but flicker.

You get complimentary tea and coffee, which is nice but had been sat there for so long, the packets were all stuck together!!

The rooms are priced far to high for what it is! The place is outdated and needs serious work! If you are having a wedding here the function room is great but the wedding suite for you to sleep in is nothing special at all, really not worth the money they want for you to stay there.

Friends staying in other rooms said it was freezing and the chairs were all torn! The reception stinks of damp as you enter it too!!

Avoid this place, there are other hotels nearby that are much nicer!

Trying to end on a plus, the staff, although not always the most helpful, were quite pleasant but I won't be going back!

National Coach Trip 1 night stay, room 149 carpet dirt not vacuumed behind the door must have been there for along time because there was a build up of dust. Same in the bathroom, side of bath panel black dirt and dust, where when the door is opened it has not been cleaned behind. The food was mainly lukewarm ,although plenty of variety, I was tempted by the peaches with my cereal, however they were fizzy so how long had they had them?

Stayed in hotel from 1-3 November and it seriously needs the hotel inspector as well as kim and aggie. Hotel looks run down and is dishevelled. Our quilt was filthy, wall paper hanging off wall, toilet dirty.

Surprisingly food was ok but just ok.

Def avoid this hotel....

We recently stayed at this hotel for 5 nights travelling with Travelstyle. After booking and looking at the reviews we thought what have we let ourselves in for.
Altough it could do with a bit of refurbishing we thought it was very good for the price we paid.
The linen was clean and the towels changed every day,the food was very good and there was plenty of choice especially at breakfast.
The staff were all very polite and helpful especially Kate on reception.

We saw a young soccer team checking in when we arrived, so we knew what we were getting in for. Economical. Our room was fine, but that may be because they put us right behind the office, and away from the youngsters. The only thing we heard all night was the office door slamming shut several times. Out room was clean, wifi worked in this room, and the tv worked, too. No complaints.
