Brad behind the bar is amazing. Always remembers that I am vegan and tells me about what I can and cannot have as the special.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough based on his service.

Top guy!

Ashby de la Zouche - often shortened to Ashby - is a small market town in North West Leicestershire, and as such has the limitations but also all the advantages of such a community.
There is but one, quite long and busy, main street and that is home to a variety of shops and several worthy Inns.
We usually head for the Bull for Repast and rest after a busy morning.
The Tavern has a narrow frontage to Market Street which belies the great depth of the establishment wherein there is space for serious drinkers at the Bar and beyond whilst off and to the side of the entrance are rooms furnished for eating and drinking.
The Menus seem to change regularly but they are, in style and approach, along the the lines of JDW - which is no bad thing.
There are various day / date specific Specials and Side Options which together with decent wines and well kept ales makes for a relaxed sustaining repast in comfortable surroundings.
The service is efficient and friendly and the food and drink are value for money.
We dined late mid day Friday 22 Sept.

food was very ordinary, but the worst problem was the ladies toilets, only 1 from 3 locks no loo roll in 2 of them & 1 was blocked yet staff had signed to say they were up to standard. hope this isnt the standard of the kitchens

This restaurant has a variety of selection of food for both vegetarian and meat lovers.
The pizza are enough to share between two people and all the portion size are huge. Everytime we go to this place we are always amazed by the food and feel it has some surprising things on the menu

Six of us went to eat here on a Wednesday teatime. We all chose the 'Pie and a Pint for £5.99' special. The food was very good and great value for money. The only small criticism we had was that 2 of the meals arrived about 5 minutes after the others.
However, they had a very good choice of real ales and we will be back again soon to try some of their other dishes.
