We had tried to get a booking at Zamani's for some time as we had been recommended the restaurant by friends. There is ample parking around the back of the restaurant. The main bar is also at the back with nice mosaic tables outside for drinkers ( and smokers) and on a Saturday night every table was taken outside and the restaurant was packed out. We had a beer outside whilst checking out the menu and the couple on our table were regulars and raved about the food, recommending various starters and mains.

There were plenty of staff dashing around in the busy restaurant. The drinks arrived immediately ( wine , water etc) and the food is served hot and well presented. The Pill Pill prawns starter was perfectly spicy and had a basket of warm fresh bread. the Venison penne pasta was delicious washed down with a good Malbec red.

Zamani's at the weekend is difficult to get a table so we recommend booking. The restaurant atmosphere was bustling and at times quite noisy but the excellent food and good value made for a good the dinning experience and we will definitely be back.

The restaurant was bustling and busy and the pleasant outside courtyard and wine bar were also very busy. It was pleasant to sit in the courtyard for a pre-dinner drink and peruse the menu.
Most dishes can be served as a small or regular portion which is nice. The prawns in the pil-pil were very large and it was very good the pork belly starter was also good.
A main course of penne stroganoff was also nice and we had no room for dessert. They also have a decent wine list and an extensive pizza menu.
Very good service that was "just right"

We have eaten at Zamani's a few times and on each occasion we have found the service to be excellent, attentive but not to in your face. Its always busy on Friday and Saturday nights and its certainly somewhere you need to book. We went early and enjoyed a bottle of wine in the courtyard winebar at the rear of the restaraunt where there is adequate seating outside (as long as you are there early enough). It is always hot in the bar area however so this is something to bear in mind in the summer. If you don't want to eat in the restaraunt they will serve fresh pizzas in the courtyard (these are excellent)

The food itself is "typical" Italian with a selection of pizza's, pasta dishes and a chefs special board. Both my wife and I enjoyed both our starters and main courses and will be back again on another date night in the near future.

We visited here as we were staying at Champneys. Needed somewhere to go for dinner so asked for advice and this was recommended. From the outside it looks a bit like a greasy spoon, but go round to the courtyard, where the entry is - and you enter a gem

We had a lovely meal - food was great - fantastic choice of pizza, pasta, mains etc.

Would definitely recommend it to others

This place is lovely, a real gem in Ashby. Decided we couldn't be bothered to cook one night so popped in hoping for a table - luckily it was early so we were seated. Great choice on the menu, was difficult deciding what to have but eventually my other half went with the spice beef pizza and I had the seafood spaghetti which was amazing! Nice ambience and really good service, will be back soon with friends or family.
