When booking I mentioned that I was on a Vegan diet, they said it was no problem, so I left it with the Chef to surprise me with a meal. SURPRISED I WAS, what an amazing meal one of the best I have ever had, worthy of a Michelin Star. Could not believe how much of an effort they made to make my night enjoyable. Could not fault the quality or service. I will be back for sure.

I stayed at the royal oak for one night to attend a nearby wedding. The royal oak is very close to long whatton gardens and is well located if going to east mids airport or loughborough. The rooms look like they have recently been built and are spacious with nice bathrooms and good sized beds. We had both an evening meal and breakfast at the restaurant both of which were good.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting the Prestwold Driving experience. The hotel was very clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was superb. My husband is a coeliac and his needs were catered for excellently. The poached eggs at breakfast were perfect. we would definitely stay again if were are in the area.

Room Tip: Room 6 had a lovely view.

Group of five went for Sunday lunch - first visit to Loughborough and looking forward to it given some of the good reviews on trip advisor. Service was good - both the young ladies were courteous and polite. Afraid the food was exceptionally disappointing :

Beef Sunday lunch : Beef was tough and virtually no gravy to support the Yorkshire pudding.
Lamb Sunday lunch : Only a very small slice of lamb and no gravy to support Yorkshire pudding.
Beef Burger : overcooked (almost to the point of being burnt and inedible) and very peppery which was unpleasant.
Pork Sunday lunch : the pork itself was lovely but the whole meal had a heavy flavour of garlic which was unpleasant.

Probably wouldn't chose to visit again and felt it was a bit of let down.

Five of us went for Sunday Lunch - service and food excellent - I'm coeliac and to be catered for without exclusion makes a huge difference round here ! I live locally and often eat out and we'll definitely be going back soon….

Working lunch, met two colleagues and found this place on Tripadvisor. Very friendly service, accommodated an extra body despite being busy. The menu is well priced and appears quite standard until the food arrives! Fantastic chicken caeser, beautifully presented. Lovely idea to serve the sandwiches with an option of soup or chips. Chips were fab. Hope to spend many more business lunches here. Thank you.

It was some time since we had visited The Royal Oak and it made me think why we had not returned sooner. It was Friday night, the bar was heaving, the restaurant fully booked but we received great service and the menu had something for everybody. We enjoyed an excellent meal including starters and a pint of proper beer to start with and really nice wine to accompany the meal made it memorable. We will be back soon. Well done everybody. Well worth a visit.
