“Firm favourite, friendly warm and welcoming”
Reviewed 12 February 2014 via mobile

On a particularly stormy cold winters night we decided to venture out for something to eat. Living in a nearby village we dropped into the Falcon Inn. Not been here for years. We were warmly greeted by staff and quickly offered drinks and menus. Seated comfortably we were soon welcomed by the owner Jad. Food and drinks arrived swiftly and were absolutely delicious. I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. My husband requested an egg with his gammon steak which was delivered without question. It is not the cheapest of places but you definatly get what you pay for We will d
be visiting again soon and highly recommend to villagers and visitors alike.

I travel to this area of England for business and have stayed twice at the Falcon Inn, typically for a week at a time. My experiences have been nothing short of fantastic! Jad is always gracious and accommodating, the rooms are clean and large, and I've never had a bad meal there. While there are more modern and expensive hotels in the area, I specifically request to stay at the Falcon Inn for the ambiance and excellent, personalized service. I will be visiting for a week again in May for a business trip and will definitely be booking a room at the Falcon Inn! Looking forward to seeing you and your staff again, Jad!

Many thanks Jad and staff for a most enjoyable evening great food,, great music just a tad loud but singer was great ,and great company. We have stayed here many times before and always found it most enjoyable and to our satisfaction. The menu gives plenty of options and is sure to please most peoples taste .Nice place for a special occasion . It is also convenient for East Midlands air port.

We didn't stay in the rooms. We went for a Valentine's meal that was ruined by serving us pork after dietary requirements and booking was discussed a month prior with the owner. the owner took away the course without replacing it and moved us swiftly on to the next course. we were given a glass of wine for the inconvenience but nothing for the course that was taken away, which at point of booking we were told we'd be served an alternative dish, and paid for it! the owner was all over the place and seemed to be absorbed playing an important role with customers and no focus on quality of promise. his staff were too embarrassed to look at us. it was all very displeasing and uncomfortable.

we had a warm welcome . did not book so had to wait a little while but not a problem we had a drink of nice real ale and the menu to peruse before being seated in the restaurant .
the food is a mix of Mediterranean / British / Lebanese fare cooked to a very good standard .
the menu is very extensive and not the norm that you get in many inns of this type my meal was very tasty I had partridge which i thought was too overly seasoned for my liking, but was well presented the meat well cooked and accompanied vegetables very satisfying.
my wife ordered a mutton stew which was melt in your mouth.
we had a bottle of house shiraz very palatable indeed .
the staff are very friendly and accommodating , the food good value for money, the inn has a nice ambience , would definitely return

Very disappointed. I took my husband for a birthday lunch and had high expectations. However, i was disappointed, as the dining area was cold and unwelcoming. There was an open fire but the other heating was off and we moved once but failed to find a warm spot. We ate lunch in our coats and, needless to say, it was cold before we had finished. It was our first visit there and it doesn't seem as if we will visit again.

Hi Madam, we are really upset that you found the pub cold, we have had a number of comments about the temperature of the pub being too warm. Having an open fire & Heating on together generates a lot of heat. so to try and keep the majority of customers happy we do try our best to monitor the temperature and keep it "Cosy". Kind Regards Jad.

stayed here for four nights. wish it had been longer. the rooms are very comfortable, spacious, clean and warm. the staff are friendly and helpful. my mother is 92 and not very mobile and they showed her every consideration. the food is amazing. every meal we had was superb. my husband and I tried the Lebanese mezze and I would highly recommend this.

do not hesitate to book the falcon inn. you will not be disappointed. we will certainly stay there again if in the area.
