Just back from a week`s break at Eye Kettleby Lakes caravan site, a fantastic site for ADULT ONLY, which is one of the big plus`s with this site, we stayed on an all fully serviced pitch, so no changing the water, and grey waste containers every 5 minutes.
The site has a clubhouse, which serves a great breakfast every day.
The surrounding area was so picturesque overlooking a lovely lake, and various other lakes for those who like fishing.
It also has Log Cabins available as well.
We also had some lovely meals out, which we got from the Eye Kettle Lakes website, which is one of the best internet sites I have seen with plenty of ideas for eating out, and would highly recommend having a look, as the saying goes IT DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN.
We will definitely be going back at some stage, just a pity the weather was`nt that good.

Room Tip: We stayed on Pitch 9, just by the toilets

We have just spent the week at Eye Kettleby Lakes and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who wants relaxation, peaceful surroundings and luxury accommodation all in one place. It is a real gem and the owners have got it all just right...from the friendly, approachable staff, the spacious luxury lodges, the fab hot tubs, the comfy beds, well equiped kitchen..and if you want to fish, the lakes are just a few steps away. As a Mum of teenage boys, it suited us all for different reasons and I for one, cannot wait to go back. We stayed in the only 3 bedroom lodge (Oak) which is rated a 4* (couldn't fault it) and on our way out, Lizzy suggested we had a look around the 5* lodges as a comparison and they are even more amazing! I would happily stay in Oak again but for a romantic trip away, go for the 1 bed one called Cherry....it really is wow!

The dvd library is great...the hot tub is amazing at night watching the stars....I cannot recommend this place enough.

Room Tip: All are great; romantics will love Cherry Lodge.

We have just spent 4 days (not long enough) at Eye Kettleby Lakes Touring Site and its the absolute BEST site we have stayed on in our 20 years of touring with our caravan. The pitches are well spaced - all hardstanding and with electricity. All superior pitches have grey waste points and TV hook up too. Most of these pitches are situated aroung one of the 7 lakes. Though this is an absolutely new site the landscaping shows much promise and should in a few years be as stunning as the rest of the grounds. There are lovely walks around the grounds. The toilet and shower facilities are housed in log cabins and are immaculately presented just like a 1st class hotel en suite. There are also laundry facilities onsite too.The site itself is set up a long driveway and set in very well kept grounds. Being an ADULT only site made for a relaxing break and an away from it all feeling of peace and quiet. The site is about 2 miles outside Melton Mowbray and is handy for visiting Rutland. Stamford is well worth a visit too.
We stayed on a standard pitch and unfortunately - if I was to nit pick, there was no provision to empty grey waste.Staff are welcoming, informative and friendly without being in your face.

I would recommend this site to anyone who likes a relaxing, peaceful holiday and if you are a fisherman then it would be absolute heaven.

Room Tip: The super pitches around the lake are stunning. Look at the site plan as staff at the site asked us...

Everything here is exceptional. The lodges are very high quality, clean and very spacious. The staff are all extremely polite and friendly. Cannot think of any improvements that could be made. The only problem is the secret is out and all lodges are booked up quite a way in advance, so probably will have to wait a while for a second visit.

This new caravan site is a beautiful addition to Eye Kettleby Lakes. The site is well designed and facilities are first class. All toilet and shower facilities are housed in individual log cabins exclusively for one persons use. The clubhouse is warm and welcoming as are all the staff. The lakes are well stocked and you are spoilt for choice as to which to fish!
Have booked for a further 2 stays later in the year.
We have been caravanning for quite a few years and this is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on.

Eye Kettleby Lakes.
This Site is Adults Only.

From the minuet you enter the drive it is obvious that this is no ordinary site. After a short distance you are greeted by electric gates that would grace a lottery winners pad. Drive on to reception to find a huge log cabin and friendly and informative staff. It’s a new site so it’s easy to make sure everything is spic and span, but this case they have done that with spades.

Newly created at a fishing and log cabin complex, in superb English countryside, it has been laid out with thought and no expense spared. Every pitch is larger than normal with tarmac roads and matching hard standings amply big enough for the largest rig and car. A well established grass area is positioned alongside each, again ample room for any awning plus lounging area to spare. So pitching is as easy as it gets. Reverse in with the van wheels just on the tarmac and pitch the awning on the grass couldn’t be easier.

Power and T/V bollards as positioned to serve two pitches at a time, (No need for long leads here). Every pitch had its own water supply and drain point for waste water giving it super pitch standing. Newly planted hedging has yet to grow but will eventually border ever pitch. And areas of tree planting will soon become established.

Moving onto the Toilet/Shower facilities. No common blocks here. A number of log cabins are fitted out with 4 individual suites. Access to each suite is gained via coded locks to find a Shower, W.C. Sinks, dressing area, even hairdryers and soap was provided. The standard of fit was equal to or above many hotels. Right down to the central heating and the piped music. The Laundry Room had all the usual even down to a fridge freezer for those in need of it.

Scattered about the site are tables and chairs of the highest quality together with a W.C. emptying point and rubbish disposal.

The Reception area contained a small, essentials only, shop and a bar serving both alcohol and coffee/tea as well as breakfast for both campers and the fishermen using the fishing lakes. Bike hire is also available and a number of social evenings are planned throughout the summer.

The quality of lodges including all fixtures and fittings is exceptional, including outside aspects such as gardens, hot tubs and decked areas. Particular attention has been given to imaginative use of lighting. Staff are very friendly and helpful and there are nice touches such as availability of wide range of books and DVDs. Overall atmosphere is extremely relaxed.

The lakes are all well maintained in terms of aesthetics and easily accessed from the lodges with feeding of waterfowl being a pleasant pastime from the waterside lodges. My only concern would be that some of the larger fish show signs of weight loss which judging by the very high levels of small fish in all lakes arises from lack of active lake management allowing stock levels to exceed that which the lake can support.

For a lodge only break or where the fishing is an indulgence I'd rate this as a 5 easily as little more could possibly be done to improve the standard of lodge, I just feel that level of attention needs to include what's in the lakes too.

Room Tip: Definitely go for a waterside lodge.
