“Wedding Reception”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2013

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding reception of our daughter Helen at the Quorn Lodge, a hotel we had never visited before. We had a great welcome and the service we received was first class. We would particularly like to thank Truda and the staff who's service and professionalism throughout the wedding lunch was unquestioning. The room we had was spacious, clean, well provided for with a mini bar and en-suite facilities.

We would recommend the Quorn Lodge to anyone requiring overnight accommodation whilst in Melton Mowbray, we certainly will stay there again.

Room Tip: The hotel has well equipped single, double and family rooms

...because the one I stayed in was excellent.

It was a spacious (big enough to comfortably accommodate a sofa, which it did), clean room, and the decoration was fine, in keeping with an older property. Looking at the traffic outside on the Friday afternoon, I thought it would be really noisy, but it all but disappears by the evening and it was a quiet comfortable sleep.

There's plenty of easy parking on site (something the booking sites are always a bit vague about).

Breakfast was good, with plenty of options beyond the full cooked if you don't fancy it. We ate evening meals in town, which is only a five minute walk, so can't comment on the restaurant otherwise.

I wish I'd written down the name of the supremely helpful lady who checked us in and out, served in the bar and served dinner and breakfast - she makes this place what it is - providing friendly, helpful service with a smile. The hotel seems to be well-situated for the town (though we didn't explore as we were only here one night - in transit from North to South).
Our room, on the ground floor, was relatively small (though the bed was comfortable) and the bathroom was small and quite dated. On a warm night it was a little frustrating not to be able to open the windows more than a little.
We ate dinner, from the Indian menu, and breakfast - in both cases the food was good, though unexciting, with large portions.
I feel a bit mean only giving it a "3" when a "3.5" is probably more accurate. This place could be really good if a bit of money was spent on it - as long as the main member of staff is retained.

Booked this hotel last minute and had a very pleasant stay. On arrival we found they had upgraded us to a superior room, which was very nice. The breakfast was lovely, full English (or any combination), toast, cereal, juice, yoghurt. Staff were very helpful. My only gripe was the shower was a bit inadequate. All in all though, good value for money

Do not believe the negative reviews. Economical, clean, value for money, quiet, helpful staff - breakfast - what more do you need? If you are visiting Melton Mowbray then the hotel is ideal for both staying & visiting the whole of the surrounding areas.

Room Tip: I was in room 17, downstairs. My colleague was upstairs & was awakened by pigeons - that's n...

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three days. Although not a five star, the service, food and friendlyness of the staff was second to knone.

I would recommend this hotel to all who love the comforts of home.

I say thank you to the staff because they were so helpful.

Would I stay there again. Yes.

Booked this place last minute for a stop off on our way home. It is a lovely hotel with fantastic service. The staff were attentive and helpful and clearly work very hard! The food was superb! For dinner there is a choice of a la carte or Indian menus. We decided on the Indian and we were not disappointed! It was beautifully cooked and flavourful. Absolutely delicious! For breakfast there was plenty of choice of fruit, cereal and cooked.
The rooms are huge and the bed was very comfortable.
