“The Best Hotel in town”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

On our way home after a tour of southern England, we popped in to Melton Mowbray to try and find some digs as there was a beer festival on in town. We drove up and down almost every road that led to town, but did not see any B&B or Hotel signs. We were about to give up when we saw 2, the 1st one was VERY pricey, the 2nd was the Quorn Hotel. Parked up in the large car park at the back and walked in expecting this place to be a bit expensive too.
Lovely reception area the receptionist was friendly and helpful, giving us directions to the festival.
Nice spacious room and bathroom.5 minute walk to town, plenty of pubs and food outlets.
We had a comfortable sleep in a nice quiet room.

Room Tip: Don't forget to hand your keys in when you leave.

This Hotel is quite tired in terms of it's decor, however it makes up for it in customer service.

I stayed one night during a business trip. I arrived late afternoon and was provided with the Honeymoon Suite. The lady who checked me in was very welcoming.

I havd good wifi access, which is critical to me when working away.

It is slightly strange in that you can order room service but need to pre-order to ensure that this can be catered for around the restaurant bookings. I ordered the Scampi and it was delivered ahead of time and was delicious. There appear to be several menus to chose from.

I decided to work from the room the next morning and this made me slightly late for breakfast arrinving at 9.15 am (Breakfast stops at 9 am). The gentleman on reception however did arrange for cereal, coffee and toast but the Chef was not able to cook anything as he was preparing for lunch.

As I said the Hotel is a bit behind the times but the people I met were very friendly and wanted to make my stay a good one.

We had to go for a 65th and 18th birthday. Hotel was Really nice and cozy. Family friendly. Fantastic breakfast. We arrived late the night before and were accommodated with a smile. Staff are really nice and friendly and they go out of their way to ensure you are looked after.
Lovely fruit trees in the hotel! Definitely will stay here again.

Stayed here recently with work. Hotel is OK, clean etc. Arrived at 21.30 so missed food. Plenty of notices in your room telling you that food cannot be bought into the hotel so wasnt able to order pizza or anything.
Went down for a drink and asked if anything could be done, to which I was told I could have a sandwhich which was great. I was sat in the liounge checking emails etc and watching tv and was then asked to go to my room as he wanted to lock up.
In all my time staying in hotels with work i have NEVER been asked to go to my room.

Room Tip: If you ask for an executive room you get a four poster!

I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend for a friends wedding last week. I agree with the previous review-the staff make this hotel what it is. Service was first class-we couldn't ask for any better.
The hotel has aged, however vintage is very on trend right now.
Breakfast was superb and the staff allowed us a late check out.
Thanks to all staff for a day filled with memories

We visited Quorn lodge in the summer for a family and friends getaway, we could not have made a better decision !! The food and the rooms at the lodge were excellent as was the warm welcome we received. Travelling with a baby meant we had a number of small requests throughout the day , all of which were met with a smile and great professionalism .
The hotel is run by a very interesting ex- army Colonel , who was very helpful with organising activities in the local area and went out of his way to ensure we had a lovely time.
All in all, it's a great hotel with friendly staff and first class service.

We stayed here for one night on 27 July on the night of our friends wedding which was just down the road. We received a very helpful early check-in at 12.15 and had one of the newly refurbished (i think) rooms on the top floor #34. The room was very spacious with a big bathroom including walk in shower. There was enough room for a sofa and desk despite being up in the eves of the building.

The helpfulness of the staff were what made our stay. From check-in to check-out we were made to feel really welcome and there was always someone around to help carry a bag or tuck a pushchair our the way so we didn't have to take it up the stairs.

There is plenty of parking and a good hot breakfast in the morning.

Only negative is no lift and our room was up 2 flights of stairs.

Room Tip: two flights of stairs for room #34
