Inspite of this hotel undergoing massive refurbishment, we had a lovely refurbished room. Number 117. The staff were absolutely delightful and so helpful. We were going to a wedding, and a little tight on time, so one of the staff asked us what time we would like a sandwich and even brought it to our room! Breakfast was amazing, although finishes a bit early on a Sunday morning (9.30am) however we didn't make it to breakfast until 9.40 and it was not a problem.
this hotel is going to be fabulous when the works are completed, and we look forward to returning when it's done. Thank you to Elaine and the other lovely lady who was working with her on Saturday!

Room Tip: Room 117 was very nice

Even though there was work going on to renovate hotel it was not noisy or make the stay unpleasant. i was in a room that hasn't yet been renovated but i still found it very pleasant. the prices are reasonable too and the outdoor seating area was lovely.

We stayed here for one night at a room price of £50 for a twin + £6pp for breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were not yet refurbished - the decor was a quite worn and the shower a bit temperamental. The breakfast was filling, although a little basic in nature - not one of the finest sausages or best black pudding I've had. However again it was served by a very friendly and helpful waitress. The hotel is very close the centre, although also next to the main road which can be a little noisy. So not one of the better hotels I've stayed in but at £25 a head in a small town what can you expect? If you get one of the refurbished rooms then this might be an OK place to stay.

A local landlady recommended the hotel & said it was being refurbished..ask for Si she said so we did, and what a great fella he is, hefound us a lovely room over looking the beer garden.. no noise filtered up to the room which was great. Comfortable and clean. The refurbishment will be fantastic quality when complete and it didnt spoil our stay. Cant say how the breakfast was as we missed it because we slept so well we didnt get up !!! We will definately be returning, all the staff we met and the fellas doing the refurb work were really really friendly and polite especially the fella who was puttying the windows who told us more about the work going on. All i can say is ... well done... great place to stay... opposite the train station and central to the local lively nightlife of pubs and live bands.. and theres loads of places to eat too... fantastic night in Melton Mowbray, cant wait to go back to the Harboro... youd of definately got a 5 rating if the refurb had been complete.. congratulations to you all and thankyou for a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: all rooms are fantastic value

The refurbished room was excellent, the staff very helpful and there was a great atmosphere during the World Cup final in the bar area. Not rowdy but lively.
The next evening there was one (big) screen on and it was possible to relax quietly in comfy sofas in another room.
Refurbishment is continuing and I presume our room price reflected this.
There is ample parking and a OK beer garden.

Room Tip: Might want to check progress on decorating etc.
