For a birthday surprise my wife treated me to a visit to kilworth Theatre and pre-show meal in the Terrace Restaurant . The ambiance of the hotel is wonderful, the staff are excellent, the terrace restaurant a delightful place to dine, but for a charge of £28.00 per head for the meal I was a little disappointed in the quality of the food served. For starters a warm scotch egg with watercress; main course lamb curry and a small square of chocolate gateau with just two raspberries for dessert. But it did not spoil our visit

We had a business lunch and required a private position to talk after our meal. Kilworth House Hotel provides just that. The meal was ideal, not to much so as to make you feel sleepy but enough to satisfy your hunger and to ready yourself for business. The service was excellent and the waiter was full of good humour. As it was a summers day we retreated onto the outside patio for privacy. The grounds are something special and with a provided drink allowed both parties to relax and get down to some serious discussions. On concluding the meeting we moved into the lounge to relax with a cup of tea, again this area is private clean. Whilst the meal is a little expensive the ambiance is something special and we use the facility again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room with a view and explore the beautiful grounds.

First visit and will return! Bought a package for dinner, theatre and bed and breakfast in a luxury room (Keats). Hotel is extremely well furnished and grounds are lovely with lots of places to sit outside. All the staff were lovely. Evening turn down service was best we have ever had! Dinner was nothing special in a very hot Orangerie which lacks ventilation. Food lacked imagination and much quality. Theatre was great (South Pacific). Bedroom was fab although on the front of the hotel and with windows open (as no air con)n a little noisy.

We visited Kilworth for the third time travelling from North Wales to experience this wonderful setting in the heart of the countryside .We stayed with friends who live quiet near so only did the pre show meal in the Orangery The party of six thought that the meal and service was first class .the head waiter welcomed us to the restaurant and recognised us from our previous visit as we had chatted to him on our visit to Antalya Turkey, his home City.
The show SOUTH PACIFIC was fantastically performed on an open air stage but covered to keep out the elements. At the end there was a standing ovation for a wonderful performance.
Well worth the long journey we will certainly return .

Just spent very good Sat night here for a large (11 of us) family celebration including seeing South Pacific at the on site theatre. Plus points - rooms excellently and thoughtfully appointed - high quality fitments all working, vg bathrooms. Public rooms spacious and attractive if you like traditional country house style. Whole place is very well maintained - no shabbiness at all. Gardens and location also great with good views from a well positioned, large patio area where you can have drinks, coffees etc. Staff were universally very helpful and cheerful if mostly very young. Breakfast pretty good with requested variations to the menu handled accurately and with a smile.
Minus points - very few really - pre theatre dinner was somewhat institutional, mass catering in style - acceptable food if rather bland - this is not a gastronomic destination hotel - very busy and pretty well handled getting a lot of covers through in time for the show. The orangerie tends to get very hot, the only option being to open the doors or have a small electric fan nearby.
For those going for the show - all this side was excellently organised in a really lovely location, fully covered (it rained but no problems).
They do a lot of weddings so there are better places for a quiet relaxing weekend but for our purposes and with the theatre as well I'd recommend the hotel wholeheartedly.

We booked in for pre show lunch. Food was extremely bland and disappointing. The chef appeared to forget any seasoning.
Service was good and surroundings wonderful.
The show was outstanding and I would recommend seeing it

Our third stay at this hotel to meet friends and attend the outdoor theatre. Hotel is very comfortable and relaxing with large, quiet, well-equipped rooms. The outdoor theatre makes for a good evening (if sometimes chilly so be prepared) with enthusiastic performances and enjoyable music.
