“TERRIBLE!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

I strongly recommend any other possible accommodation! I would rather camp at the side of the road then stay at this filthy insect infested pit! First of all on arrival we was charged £10 each room to check in half an hour before the stated 3oclock as there was no where to store our luggage and we had to be out before 3! On entering our room was greeted by the cast of bugs life crawling and flying all over! After having a great night ate kasabian the only thing we wanted in the morning was a good old breakfast but this also was a complete disaster! After waiting 1hour for a sausage sandwich he had totally forgot about 2 of our sandwiches! Overall a complete and utter disgrace!!

Stayed here to gain access to Donnington park and was surprised at how cheap it was. Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Good size rooms and bathrooms with tea and coffee facilities. Everything was clean and tidy and staff very friendly. An Indian restaurant has just opened next door which also serves British menu but didn't know about this so had already booked a table at the hobby horse just ten mins drive away. Although its next to a main road you don't hear the traffic and got a good nights sleep. Will definitely be staying again and would recommend to anybody for the price.

We have been staying at this (now former) Travelodge for over 20 years on our twice annual buying trips. It recently changed hands to Rafee; the new owners are trying to make some changes in the restaurant (used to be a Little Chef) which may open soon. The location is convenient for us, and is near several restaurants/pubs we enjoy very much. The rooms are clean and reasonable, especially if booked ahead. The staff is helpful, and there is a tea/coffee tray in each room and a car park, wi-fi may be booked for a fee.

This hotel is ex travelodge so has the same layout.

It is only £25 a night and the rooms are clean. The staff are friendly and helpful.
They have wifi as a chargeable extra at £5 per night.
You will need a car to access the hotel as there are no bus routes to the hotel. There is free parking.
Its only 10 minute drive to thurmaston retail park.
The only downside was the sofa bed mattress was a bit hard but the double bed was comfy.

I would stay there again if in leicester.

We stayed here for one night on the 20th of March 2014. The hotel is all on its own as they are refurbishing the Little Chef next door. It looks very old from outside and is very old and tired inside but it is very clean. It only cost £25 for the room, so you know its not going to be super good. The shower was brill, the best we have had in any hotel. The lady on the front desk was very helpful, there was plenty of tea & coffee in room. What more could you want for £25. Would stay here if in the area again. So quiet during the night. Our room was it was at the back and overlooked fields. I think you can pay for the internet but in most places you have to do that.

Room Tip: we had room at back so was very quiet

Stayed here with my husband and son. We just wanted a place to sleep. We weren't bothered about facilities etc as long as it was clean. When we arrived the staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and quite spacious. This room was better than some 3/4 star hotels we have stayed in. Would definitely recommend this place. It is in the middle of nowhere. But we asked were we could get something to eat and staff explained how to get to the local village which was less than 5 minutes drive away. She also told us which way to come back from the village to avoid going around the long way. Staff we're very helpful. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. You couldn't hear any road noise.

After reading some of the previous reviews I was concerned about what to expect............. especially as it was no longer owned by Travel Lodge which we use quite often. Well I can say my wife and I were both pleasantly surprised as we found our room to be very clean and in good decorative order! The staff on duty were also very friendly and said if we needed anything to just let them know. They did say that the hotel was at the moment being updated and that The Little Chef next door would also be reopening soon. The comments about it being in the middle of nowhere are true but if you do some research before hand you will have found this out. I do have to agree with the comment concerning the dual carriage way access not be good!! But not sure what can be done about this? Perhaps we were lucky that we had a room at the back of the hotel as we both had a quiet and peaceful nights sleep.

Room Tip: Room 12 at the back of the hotel was very quiet and in a very good condition
