A chance find by me, but what a good one. Very close to the sea front, clean, very quiet, friendly, all amenities (including a room for those with mobility problems), nice breakfast, very reasonably priced. Complete with pictures of Ken Dodd and the Temperance Seven (previous guests) on the hall wall; and has been awarded a Roy Castle Good Air Award.
Cleethorpes itself is lovely - donkeys on the beach (and what a beach, a European Blue Flag for cleanliness, and it's absolutely stunning and goes on for miles and miles), crazy golf, great fish and chips (and as in all English towns a good Indian restaurant, The Tamarind), friendly people, lots to do and see (including a pleasure resort, kiting, walking along the prom, eating more candyfloss than you ever thought possible, and of course having a ride on the donkeys and playing crazy golf). Go. Have fun. I did.
