We dropped in on a lunch time looking for a quick snack and was very impressed! We had prawn and marie rose sandwiches on white and brown bread which came beautifully presented with salad and crisps.
Service was excellent and looking at the choices on the boards we will be back for something more substantial. The pasta dishes looked rather scrummy!
Only critcism, as others have said, is lack of menus on tables. I don't like reading blackboards and feel I am over looking other diners to do so.
Nice little restaurant that should do well as there isn't a lot of competition in Grimsby

It is very nice to hear that you and your husband will come back to see us after enjoying your sandwiches. thank you for your lovely comment. About our blackboards, we constantly change our menu, sometimes even on a daily basis, so having the menu on blackboards gives us the freedom to change it without having to print out menus all the time.We think that this will keep our guests interested and they always find something new on our menu. But of course, we will keep all comments in mind.
Hope to see you again soon

Visited Sage for the first time on Saturday night, excellent food and good service, with a nice atmosphere, My only criticism would be the Menus on the chalk boards and having to get up from my table to read the menu and having some one standing be hind me when I was eating apart from that Sage is a great little restaurant , we will be back soon

Visited this new eatery in Grimsby on a Monday evening in July. Having seen the place packed in the evenings at weekends, it was pleasant to find the place much quieter for our visit. The former Swigs winebar has had a much needed refurbishment and now has an airy, contemporary feel.

The menus are presented on blackboards and in addition to "specials" the main courses are offered as a choice of meat/ fish (the tuna steak was superb!) a choice of potatoes and a choice of sauce. You can therefore design your own meal. There was also a good choice of starters, pastas and sandwiches available. I can also highly recommend the home made chocolate brownie for desert....YUM!

All the food was freshly prepared and the staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a delicious meal - we will certainly be back. The menu definitely has a continental feel, so brings something a little bit different to Grimsby. Bravo!

Three of went for a 'business' lunch and it turned out to be everything we could have hoped for. Service was efficient and very pleasant, menu was varied and interesting. We had a Cod dish and homemade burger from the specials board and a seafood platter. All excellent ingredients well prepared and presented, thoroughly enjoyable. Bill was £32 including drinks, quite acceptable. The restaurant was full so a little noisy but not enough to put us off. Will definitely use this restaurant again.
