“Excellent location for Cleethorpes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2010

We have just got back from 2 nights at the Premier Inn in Grimsby. Was a little worried before we went as the Premier Inn website warns that the hotel is next to a main road and an industrial estate. This is all true but we were not disturbed at all and heard no noise at all during the night. Had also noticed that some people on here had mentioned a strange smell but that wasn't present when we went.

All the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was up to usual Premier Inn standards. Clean with en-suite facilities, drinks making facilities, hairdryer, freeview TV and comfy beds. You can also get internet connection but it is quite pricey.

The hotel was about 15 mins drive away from Cleethorpes which was where we wanted to visit. Perfect if you have a car and I also think there was a train station fairly close too.

Only negative about this place was that the adjoining pub where you have your breakfast was suffering a nasty fly problem at the time of our visit. It was bad enough trying to eat food which had come from the kitchen with one hand whilst swatting away flies with the other but daring to eat food from the buffet table was only for the brave. Not sure if this was a one-off problem but I would avoid eating here again because of this.

We stayed here in order to attend a wedding in Louth and have a few days sightseeing and we were really impressed with the hotel and breakfast. The staff were very friendly, the room was immactulate and the decor looked fairly new and maintained to a good standard. The breakfast room staff were particularly friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definately stay here again!

i was totally disappointed with our trip to this hotel, i didnt get off to a very good start on check the receptionist wasnt overally friendly we were not shown how to get to our room where breakfast/bar was breakfast times etc.even though we were on B&B I found it very surprising our room didnt have a phone even for a budget hotel i think it should be standard ie if fire happened how do they get in contact with any of their guests? there was no iron in rooms but one could supposingly could be borrowed for £5 deposit as there was no phone had to go whole way to reception to find out they had none available. breakfast was ok first morning but the second was shocking waited at least 30-40 mins on some bacon and mushrooms ended up having to cancel our breakfast. the manager of the restuarant was extremley helpful and asked reception to refund us for it. This receptionist was even worse not friendly at all very grumpy and didnt even apologise. I would definately not stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed at this Premier Inn due to it's location - just at end of A180, which is close to family & friends in Cleethorpes/N. Lincs. We have stayed here before so knew what to expect and we were not disappointed! The reception staff (Barbara, Becka to name just 2) were extremely polite, friendly & helpful.
We opted for the "all-you-can-eat-breafkfast" which meant the kids ate free when adults pay. For £15 we had a buffet breakfast plus cooked (fresh to order) breakfast. The food was very good - thick cut bacon, very tasty sausages & all the cereals, breakfast pastries/muffins any one could imagine!!! There is lots to do in this area, and the hotel has a variety of leaflets/info on local attractions in the foyer.
There is just ONE negative point & that is although the location is convenient for the A180 due to the high number of factories & a sewage plant being nearby there can be unpleasant smells when you get to the hotel - but once inside, the odours are unnoticeable
We will definitely stay here again!

We have just visited The above Premier Inn for one night so we could attend a family party in Grimsby, I was very pleasantly surprised by the service we received. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, all the staff we came into contact with where polite helpful and friendly. The all you can eat breakfast at £7.50 was excellent, with plenty of variety and healthy options. The room was spacious and clean and yes we did get a great nights sleep.

Guess UK readers will be familiar with Premier Travel Inn, but if you're not they aim to offer clean, comfortable, simple rooms at low prices.... very much a no-frills experience.

Location: Easy to find by the main A180 as you come into Grimsby, but location is basically in a industrial park, so it's a long way from romantic, and doesn't seem to be that close to the town centre either. Plenty of free car parking.

Check in: Efficient, no problems. You pay on arrival (which makes check out simple)

Room: Clean, quiet, comfortable and easily spacious enough for 2. The energy-saving bulbs means the light in the room isn't great. The bathroom was clean with a good shower, bed was comfortable. You also get tea/coffee & colour TV.

Eating/Drinking: There is a pub next door where food (including breakfast) can be bought. Didn't try it so can't comment, but these places tend to be rather bland & "corporate" looking

Overall: If you are on your way somewhere, or want a comfortable room for £50, then you can't go wrong. Just don't expect the luxuries of a more expensive hotel. Have paid a lot more for worse nights sleep.
