It seems to have had a changer of ownership or management since our last stay. The room we had this time was much larger than previously but it seems that it had had half an upgrade and needed finishing. The room was clean and had most things that you would need.Breakfast was well cooked and had virtually everything one would expect

The room was very good, excellent size. Bathroom was nicely done.
The hotel seems to run on minimal staff, therefore a bell on reception would be useful when checking in or out.
Breakfast was reasonable...no toast offered so ask!
Hey it was only £75 for BB in July!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms aren't connected and you have to walk around or outside the building. Check th...

We have recently spent a three night stay in the Beeches , the location was great for us as our reason for the stay was to visit with friends who live locally to the hotel. The public rooms are very pleasant and the staff are always very helpful and polite. Our room however was very small very little passing room and even less in the shower room. It was however clean and bright but I ail to understand why hotels insist in only having windows open 2 or 3 inches . Would we stay again? yes good value for money.

Room Tip: Not room 4

We have stayed here over the last 9 years and it was owned by a family and run very nicely. It was clean and nicely kept now been taken over and was no better than a cheap hotel like an Ibis or Premier in. Recently stayed at an Ibis and it was better than this. Rubber bath mat was black and now instead of individual soap and bits you get a big plastic bottle stuck on the wall. Breakfast was basic and the cooked breakfast was hot and good. So disappointing.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are best but not 16 it was dark and noisy from kitchen fan.

We went here with family members prior to going our separate ways after a few days together. We were not sure what to expect as it was some considerable time since we had been to Grimsby but the restaurant came recommended so we gave it a try. The initial impression was that, at 1.30 p.m. on a Sunday, the restaurant was closed. Further investigation revealed that the conservatory area had a few diners whilst the inside restaurant, which we had chosen as it would be cooler, was empty. When the menus arrived, we asked about wine, expecting a wine list; instead the (head?) waiter rattled off what was available with no indication of price. what we chose turned out to be very acceptable but this was more down to good luck than good management! As far as the menu went, it is not usual for Janet and I to be stumped for choice but we could find nothing in the starters that appealed to us, and we are not fussy eaters. We chose mains to be followed by desserts/cheese platters.

The food was obviously 'pub grub' rather than restaurant food; satisfactory, but not what we were expecting. The cheese platters were good, although perhaps overpriced. Although we did not pay for the meal, we did find out subsequently the total cost. With a bit of mental arithmetic we decided that it was either extremely good value for money or we had not been charged for the second bottle of wine! I am inclined to think that the second option applies.

Overall, this is not somewhere that we would hurry back to although we have nothing to compare it with in Grimsby.

We stayed at the Beeches for the first time just for one night. The check staff were great and very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious with good decor and clean. We had an enjoyable stay even a fan in the room,(that we didn't have to ask for) it was hot so this helped.
All was great until we went down for breakfast, the waiter did his job and we were served a fabulous full English breakfast but his attitude and lack of friendliness was awful he wasn't welcoming or did a check back on our meals. Cant even put it down to the fact that he was busy, it was quiet in the breakfast room. A dampener on what had been a lovely stay. If I choose to stay again ill think twice about going down for breakfast.

We took a large party (27) for Sunday lunch in Late May .. I believe this to be only days after the new 'team' had descended on the hotel .. It was a 60th birthday celebration .. And can only be described as 'pretty disastrous'' - with respect to the staff who tried their upmost to remedy the situation I will not go into full detail. Suffice to say we did not pay for any food on that day and all were invited back for a complimentary second attempt ..
Hence 18 (not all of the original party were able to re-attend) of us dined there this Saturday lunchtime .. We all had the 3 course meal of our choosing and were very happy with the quality, quantity and presentation of our food :-)
Whilst all the staff who served us were very pleasant and efficient I would like to mention that Damian was most helpful throughout both the Bad & the Good experiences.
Should the standard continue to be as of Saturday then we would be very happy to re visit & recommend to others.

Room Tip: N/A .. We only used the Restaurant facilities
