“Excellent food and friendly helpful staff”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Recommended restaurant by customers at The Royal Hotel up the road, a short walk to get there and we wasn't disappointed.
The owner was friendly and helped us choose our menu, a lovely dining experience.

“first visit - won't be the last”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

we were meeting relatives for a meal and decided to give Salt and Pepper Village a try. We were very pleased with the greeting we received when we arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu is a mixture of new style dishes and the old favourites and everything is reasonably priced. We all had appetisers, starters and main courses and drinks. Two of us had sweets and we all had tea or coffee. The bill was very reasonable at £99. The food was nicely presented, very tasty, and the portions were a good size. We were not rushed, being able to sit and talk even when the table had been cleared. The restaurant was quite busy but the service was quick and efficient (although there was some confusion over the coffees but this was speedily remedied). We would certainly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going for a return visit.

“Sorry to say very bad experience New Years Eve”
Reviewed 23 January 2014

Was expecting a great meal and felt like i'd let my family down New Years Eve taking them here.
Virtually every table complaining, some walking out, It's a shame because it really looks the part.
Waited 20 mins with no drinks, then had to get up and ask, waited a bit longer for someone to arrive, same again with starters, waited an age, then noticed we had 2 salts but no pepper on table to go with my starter, got up to ask for some pepper, then didn't arrive (waiter forgot!), waited longer for main course to arrive, by which time we were all completely fed up. Food was very average and only luke warm, nothing to go back for. We then asked for bill which again didn't arrive, both tables either side of us complaining to waiters. Got up to pay at bar, only to see a large party of people leaving as their first two hot starters were cold. Summed the night up really, it was like something out of Faulty Towers, please get your act together this could be a really nice place to eat.
