“GOOD VALUE, GIVE IT A TRY”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime and it was quite busy, the restaurant was hot, but it was a red hot day, we had a party of eight and every plate was cleared, even my sister never moaned at the food, so it must be good, the service was spot on and the £8.95 menu is very good value, so give it a try!!!

“Persuaded ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

The location and decor (from what I could see and know) had me hesitant about visiting here. However, a friend insisted and I'm pleased she did.
I consider myself quite hard to please when eating out;although it is like stepping into your grandmothers living room the food and the service quite simply top others in this area.
An English menu choice which is priced according to quality. The table spotless and clean.
Will definitely return to try a different choice from the menu.

“Wedding Anniversary meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Last night my Husband and i booked for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We arrived to a lovely atmosphere, great staff followed by a truly beautiful meal.
So nice in this day and age to find a country Inn/restaurant where there is no blasting "musak" and a huge TV screen with sport competing for your attention. We need more places like this .
A nice touch was that they had put some stars and hearts scattered on the tablecloth as they knew it was our special day.

“Jewel in the (Queen's) Crown !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

En route to Norfolk we stopped off for lunch and I'm so glad we did. The ambience, friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food was fit for a Queen! I had the double lamb chop (sometimes called a Barnsley chop in the north east) served on a bed of potato mash and a generous portion of vegetables was the most tender, the most delicious meal I have had in a long time. The bill was very reasonable and the ingredients fresh and tasty. Do stop off and experience this typically English food. Well done and thank you all at the Queen's Head.

“Great lunchtime food, good service in lovely setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Called in for a bite to eat and a drink. The staff were friendly and professional, good range of snacks, sandwiches were delicious and filling. Decorations are smart yet warm, gives a lovely setting, more like a restaurant than a pub. Given standards prices were reasonable.
