We booked the Maple VIP with the hot tub which was good value compared to other similar lodges we have stayed in. The lodge (really is a fake timber clad caravan ) is situated in a great location with surrounding walks, and pubs (recommend the George & Dragon) within walking distance. The Henderson's on site bar/restaurant is lovely, we had a good meal there and used the lounge area often to access Wifi to check emails etc. Hawes and Masham (on market day) are good places to eat, walk and restock with fresh bread and cakes!
Negatives...Take coat hangers there were 2 in each wardrobe, the mattresses are not comfy and the ensuite door into the shared bathroom is a pain, you have to lock both doors when using the bathroom facilities.

I stayed at Westholme for four nights in May, with my husband and two sons aged 6 and 8. We stayed in a Maple VIP which was clean, modern and comfortable, with the big bonus of a lovely hot tub. This was especially welcome after our climb up Whernside! Staff were welcoming and friendly. Although we brought all food with us, we did visit Hendersons for coffee and desserts which was no problem for the staff there, and were delicious! A relaxing break in a place we would definitely revisit.

Me and my boyfriend came here for a short break to get away from work. Our first impressions of the lodge was brilliant, beat our expectations. We came to just relax for a week, but we did end up renting bikes, going out for dinner, Aysgarth Falls which is Beautiful. A lot of people moaning about phone signal, but that's a good thing for us. To get away and shut off! People also moaning about the temperature and cleanliness of the hot tub, but it was cleaned every morning, and was always 40 degrees! Our only complaint is the restaurant, let's just say I won't be eating Haddock for a very long time. Also take all your food with you as there isn't a supermarket within at least 10 miles..

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Would go back again.

In short this is a very nice and relaxing place to stay. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is for the minor "niggles" that it suffered.
The lodges are nicely spaced out, if you have booked one with a hot tub, this is a welcome element. They are not totally private so expect to see others in their tubs! We arrived and got checked into the reception with ease and efficiency. We were given a WiFi code that worked near the reception building and told about the do's and don't of the park (and hot tub). A short £50 holding charge and some signatures and we were out finding out lodge.
We were greeted with a very well presented accommodation. The only thing that let it down on the outside was the mess of leaves and debris. Granted we were in a forest and I expect as much but it could have been treated to a quick brush and tidy up. The kitchen was stocked with a small loaf of bread and a pint of milk, we had however brought shopping for the entire stay as we were not expecting anything.
The main living area was fitted with a small LCD TV, DVD and some sort of satellite box with 13 channels. The TV did take a USB drive which was a godsend for the kids. The kitchen was well fitted with dishwasher and all cooking utensils. It did however suffer from mismatched cutlery (3 forks in a four birth unit), uneven number of cups (again 3 coffee cups for a 4 birth unit) and different size wine glasses and tumblers. Not a major issue but the consistency was lost. The master bedroom had a double bed with a overhead storage unit and two side wardrobes and there was a en-suite with a nice large shower. The kids room was a twin room and was quite snug. For those that are thinking of going with smaller children (ours were 4) you may want to take a night light as it get pretty dark in the forest and there was no ambient light for the little ones. We had to turn the kitchen extractor fan light on and that seemed to light it up enough on a night.
The main attraction though was indeed the hot tub. This did duffer from some minor issues, the control panel was missing some writing as it had rubbed off so some experimenting was needed. It also was full of debris from the surrounding area so we had to clean it before use (no net supplied or anything like that). It was also packed with chlorine which you got used to after the first 15 minutes. The instructions do ask users not to have more than 15 minutes at a time for safety reasons. However most people about seemed to be in there for hours! One other minor issue was there did not seem to be an "off" switch. The tub was on permanently and in this day of eco friendliness, didn't feel right to leave it on all day. The park also suffered from a lack of recycling so all our rubbish we in the black plastic bin. That also didn't feel right after years of being taught to separate our rubbish!
There is an onsite restaurant and bar, we didn't use this as we brought all our stuff with us and we had the little ones so boozing was out this time.
All in all, we had a fantastic time with great surroundings, modern fittings and appliances and a great location for exploring the brilliant dales. Minus 1 star for the slightly unkempt feeling and un-eco friendliness.

Just returned from a four night break. We booked a larger lodge (Beech) We had No 31 which was very private and not overlooked when in the hot tub. We arrived early so had quite a wait to check in but it wasn't a problem as we had a relaxing drink in the lovely bar. On getting our key we were told we couldn't use the hot tub as the previous guests had mis-used it so had to wait for it to get up to temperature which wasn't until the next morning. Shame as we were looking forward to using it after our long drive. The lodge was very clean and so big. We had an issue with not getting the t.v. to work but maintenance soon sorted it out for us. Plenty space in bedroom for luggage. There was a huge walk in wardrobe so we didn't have to use the second bedroom for storage. The welcome pack was very much appreciated, even though we had done some shopping. There was bread, milk, beverages, toiletries and washing up items. It took some working out how to use the oven, microwave and hob and instructions would have been nice. Really enjoyed using the hot tub, so relaxing after a day out. We had one meal at Henderson's bar and would recommend it. We had monkfish, which neither of us have had before, and it was delicious. Felt a bit isolated as there was no phone signal and if it rained, reception went on t.v. Did use the Wi-Fi in the bar. We didn't have any problems with noise on the site and staff very friendly and helpful. Just what we needed to recharge the old batteries.

Room Tip: We had No 31 which was not overlooked at the back.

Firstly i would like to say it is a good area and the people are friendly. We stayed in the maple home but upon getting into the lodge we realised it was a caravan, the couches were for 10-13 yr olds and you can count the springs in the matresses when you lay on them, so if you suffer with a bad back then take a blow-up bed, trust me you can thank me later. You will NOT get a phone signal also and theres not any shops so take your own shopping you get a small milk and a small loaf other than that its a nice area just dissapointed that they call it a lodge and not a plush caravan.

We visited park 25 April for 7 nights and stayed in SycamoreVIP no 27. We thought the lodge was lovely for what we needed. It was very cosy and lovely and warm all the time, it was nice to have access to the heating controls, as some lodge parks we have visited don't give you access to heating.
My only niggle was lodge was not as clean as other lodges we have stayed at, skirting boards were full of muck but apart from that the lodge itself was nice and cosy and had everything we needed.
Hot tub was also lovely and kept its temp, cleaned every morning too by the staff and spent a lot of time in it having a few drinks, heaven after a day out walking!
We absolutely loved the park grounds, it was so scenic and the surrounding area was lovely. We had our 2 dogs and went on some fab walks in the area, our favourite being aysgarth falls which is only a 10 minute walk from the park, we loved it here and went 4 times. We also went to the aysgarth falls hotel a few times for a drink, lovely pub with really nice beer garden and done lovely food, it was a nice stop off point on way back to lodge from waterfalls, they are dog friendly too so you can take your pooch in.
We also loved the village of west burton too which was about a 20 min walk out of park, lovely village with a beautiful waterfall and a lovely pub, very picturesque village.
We done a lot of walks as there is so many in the area, we also visited the Wensleydale creamery in Hawes which is 10 mile away, it was a nice morning out, we saw how the cheese was made and then went into the shop were we tasted a lot of different cheeses before buying a little stash to take back to our lodge to have with some wine mmm!
Must mention Hendersons bar and restaurant in the park, staff were so friendly and helpful.
We sat in here most days for a couple of drinks and to use the wifi, drinks were reasonably priced and nice modern bar, good atmosphere.
Must say the restaurant has the most amazing food, we had a Sunday lunch to die for the chef is fantastic, everything is homemade and so fresh. We also tried the monkfish one night as recommended by the chef and we were both very impressed, beautiful meal in lovely surroundings.
I must also mention how lovely all the staff were, from checking in the chap on the desk (didn't get his name) was so friendly, helpful and informative to the staff in the bar that always had a smile were all so lovely.
Paul the manager is a lovely chap too, so helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you, mind he even took a shine to my bulldog lol!
We had an amazing week and can't wait to book back up for later in the year, it's our new favourite lodge park!
Get booked up you will have a fab time :)
Well done westholme estate!
