Description: The George and Dragon Inn is a timeless Victorian gastro pub nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park complete with a crackling log fire, traditional ales on tap, a patio with views of Pen Hill and rustic walls decorated with framed sketches. We couldn't think of a cosier place to settle in with a bottle of red than the George and Dragon Inn's down-to-earth dining room, and apparently we're not the only ones. With one AA Rosette under its belt, the restaurant is a popular spot for Sunday roasts, afternoon tea and hearty evening meals, and the modern British menu includes signature dishes such as the roast Nidderdale chicken breast served with smoked applewood risotto.

Whether you want run of the mill pub food like fish & chips, steak & ale pie or specials like venison Wellington you won't be disappointed at the quality of the food at the George and dragon. Main meals are on average £10 whilst the venison special around £18. Highly recommended whether eating al fresco or in the restaurant .

This pub came highly recommended by our guesthouse, The Wensleydale Farmhouse who also booked our table. 5* service and food of yes and drink!

Really good food well worth the drive there from Hawes where i was based during my holiday.
Had the sea bass which was on the specials board followed by the choc cheesecakes. Absolutely delicious.
Strange set up, order your food in the bar then taken to your table about 10 min later.
You pay back at the bar when you have finished. Old school but adds to the charm.
Well worth a visit and reasonable price.

Having read such great reviews I had high expectations. Can't fault the service but beef Wellington wasn't wrapped fully in pastry (was a slice) and the quality/size of the steak average. Other tables did have some great looking food on them so I must have been unlucky this visit...
