We settled on Crathorne Hall for our wedding as they were the only venue that we found in the area that seemed to adapt fully to our style of wedding. The staff worked with us brilliantly to make sure we had the wedding of which we dreamed and not some excessive chav fest where large budgets and costly add ons are the norm.

They provided us with beautiful, high quality food in the gourmet buffet style we wanted and the waiting staff took great care of our guests.

The rooms are fabulous, especially the huge ones in the main building and immaculately clean. The bridal suite was to die for!

Our guests left in absolute awe at the day...Thank you!

Best service I have experienced at a hotel- staff could not have been more helpful to accommodate our group of 17 people of mixed ages and requirements! Thank you all especially to Christa for your cheerful and patient welcome at check-in, Ellie for your enthusiasm and guided tour of the hotel when we arrived, Gloria for your happy smile and organising our dinner arrangements, Earl for sorting out the bikes and everything else, Tracy for your unfailing patience at check-out!

A beautiful house set in a lovely location!! Our room was of a very high standard and very well decorated. The food in the restaurant was excellent and great, attentive service from Emily and Lucy. Probably one of the best hotel experiences we've had in a while.

My husband and I were married on Friday 1st August and booked our reception with Crathorne Hall. From the very initial enquiry with the wedding co-ordinator we were very, very well looked after. Vicky our wedding co-ordinator was in constant contact with myself over the year leading up to our wedding, answering questions and solving any issues I had (which were few because Crathorne were so well organised!). The night before the wedding I went to Crathorne to drop everything off to dress the room, and also to leave the cake. We were greeted by a wonderful gentleman named Elie who promptly took everything off us and reassured us that it would all be set out as planned, and bags I had left would be put into the bridal suite. And they were. When we arrived the next day we were introduced to the amazing lady who ran the wedding for us. Lucy was an absolute superstar and provided us with everything we needed and more. Nothing
was a problem and she took such good care of us and our guests we were thrilled. The team that worked with Lucy serving us and generally being amazing were efficient and friendly, particularly Jonny who helped me a lot with drinks and other things as I struggled to move sometimes in my HUGE dress! It was a nice touch that Vicky our wedding co ordinator came up for a chat during the reception drinks. It was wonderful to see her having been through and organised the whole thing together. Following the evening reception we were welcomed into the residents bar and were served by two lovely gentlemen I didn't catch the names of. Our best man needed to go to his car and was getting up to go when one if these men offered to go for him instead and did so. This was a great touch meaning our best man could continue to relax. Our experience at Crathorne was everything we expected and more. The staff make it with their personal and friendly approach, and as a result our wedding day was literally perfect. Thank you to all of the team for being so fabulous. We will definitely be returning as
normal guests!
Lots of love, Mr & Mrs Rooney xxx

Crathorne Hall is one of the Handpicked Hotels. It stands alone in its grounds , but you can hear the A19 traffic. The pluses are the gorgeous rooms , attentive staff, the white linen tablecloths and serviettes, etc. If you go midweek it can be serenely quiet and private-feeling . Weekends it hosts weddings , but separate parts of the hotel are used for those. Breakfast is fabulous , with a large cold buffet, but waitress service for hot dishes : everything from porridge to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, haddock to a full English breakfast ..... Dinner is a leisurely affair : alas! fresh bread rolls and a couple of other things slightly over-salted. The high point of our stay was being in a "Classic" room with tiles and roll top bath from the early 1900s. Really beautiful.

Room Tip: If you want style, ask for a Classic Room . We had the room called Ingleby.

Dear Ms Lowe
Thank you for your very lovely review regarding your recent stay at Crathorne Hall.

It was a delight to have you here but also to read that you really enjoyed our friendly and relaxed service, high standards and your room. I will pass on your thanks to my team who I know will be pleased that the experience 'hit the mark'.

With having only 37 bedrooms and in different parts of the building offering different views, you can really enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel.

Sounds like we may well see you again in the near future so we all look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back to Crathorne Hall

Kind regards

Peter

Took my 95 year old mother and some friends to Crathorne Hall for afternoon tea. It was wonderful. The staff were attentive the food delicious and the surroundings beautiful but I do have one reservation - what happened to the china crockery - there was none!

Word to the Manager. Surely afternoon tea should be china cups, saucers and plates, not thick white porcelain crockery! It's a shame and did detract from the afternoon tea experience. That being said I would go again and recommend it to others. Wonderful.

Dear Sandygeoff45

It was a real pleasure to have you and your 95 year old mother come and enjoy afternoon tea at Crathorne Hall.

Wonderful to hear you had a great time and enjoyed the attentive staff and naughty cakes!! Thanks for mentioning about the china crockery which I am pleased to say are all stocked up and being used so when you return.

Also, for your information we have a lovely afternoon tea with a chocolate twist in all of October coming followed by our November theme before heading in to our very successful Christmas theme.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Kind regards
Peter
