we have just stayed two nights at the beach approach cottage,we came across the cottage after looking up the name of the hotel that was there before,i got hold of kerry who could not have been more helpful.it was a surprise break for my husbands birthday.so kerry even posted my confirmation to keep it secret, the cottage is modern and spotlessly clean,it was lovley and warm, and the heating was easy to use.unfortunatly the oven top and the telly were not quiet so easy so you might end up having to eat out,as the hob kept cutting out on me and the instructions were very complicated, got the hang of the telly in the end though. The bed was the comfiest bed i have ever had on holiday, and the shower was fantastic.the patio is a lovley little shelterd spot a good sun trap, and even great for rainy days as games room under cover, and a good size bbq to use, plenty of seats and a great size table.we will definatley go back and we also have told all our friends to give it a try.coco the chocolate lab loved it too,

My wife and I found this lovely cottage through there facebook page and we booked it straight away for the easter monday week. The cottage is outstanding, we had a fantastic relaxing week in filey and the cottage. The cottage is very clean, tidy and tastefully decorated the kitchen has everything you could need for your stay plus theres plenty of towels to last you throughout your stay. Being ideally located to the beach with only a dozen or so steps from the cottage down to the sea front and onto the beach. we would recommend this place to any of our friends and family and with it being dog friendly we will definitley be booking to go again later in the year

Stayed at 5Leys Feb Half Term in sea facing flat number 14. All very modern and importanty warm, especially after a day on the windswept beach. Immaculately clean and everything you need for a few days R&R. A measure of a place is in the helpfulness of the owners and, having had a pair of shoes returned having forgotten them, Kerry is now our hero! Thank You.

Thoroughly recommended and a bargain to boot

Stayed at the Beach Approach Cottage for one week (18/02/2012). The cottage was the perfect retreat to get away from the rush of everyday life. The cottage was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, excellent bed linen and towels. We have done many self catering holidays over recent years and the level of detail provided with this accommodation is second to none - you really could just turn up for the week with a bag of clothes and away you go. To the exterior, the cottage benefits from having its own secluded patio garden and games room to enjoy in the better weather. Although not a problem for us, its worth noting that the cottage is set back off the main road from the seafront and is accessed by steps. As BazThornton reviewed, this might be a problem for less ambulate people, however, for us this was a bonus - we unloaded belongings into the cottage and left the car where is was for a week. There are many lovely independent shops within 5 minutes walking distance from the cottage so it was great to be car free for a change. Can also recommend a lovely little Italian restaurant in Filey called Bella Italia - well worth a visit.

Stayed 2 nights in the 5leys cottage called Beach Approach Cottage.
I could almost make this a one worded review.....WOW
It is ideally situated, although the steps up to it may be difficult for the elderly or less able bodied holidaymaker.
It is spotlessly clean and superbly equipped, even down to a table tennis table and dart board in the games shed in the garden.
The cottage has a lovely large lounge diner, double bedroom, bedroom with bunks, bathroom and nice entrance hall.
It is also dog friendly

A superb cottage, and as arny said....we will be back, and thanks to all at 5leys

We had booked somewhere else in Filey for our visit to see friends and family which proved to be unacceptable resulting in a desperate search at short notice for alternative accomodation. The group consisted of 4 adults and one 2 month old baby. We were pleased to be offered a two bedroomed apartment at 5 leys.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not have done enougth for our stay. The rooms were very well furnished, clean and tidy what is all you ask for. We had a room overlooking the bay it would have been a great view but for the 4 days of fog ( not hotels fault) .

The location of the apartments is on the sea front with just a short pleasent walk to the town and brigg. The rooms have all the facilities required to be self sufficient and are suited for both families and couples alike.

We really enjoed our stay and relatives who visited us commented on how good they were. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. A big thank you to the staff.

Room Tip: Try and get one with the sea view it is well worth it.
