“Excellent Stay”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

We stayed for a couple nights as we needed to get away from it all after our house sale fell through, we hadn't booked just picked Filey - got in the car and drove! We were welcomed by Suzanne and Vince, the room was immaculate and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and home made tomato sauce! Little suggestion as the home made jams and marmalades looked so yummy maybe put a few crosiants out with the cereal and fruit juice? - we were alwasy to full to try them after after our cooked breakfast. Thank you both for making us feel so welcome.

I am a single traveller and have found that Suzanne and Vince have created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere at the Seafield. The single room is ensuite and spacious, with a generous hospitality tray, which is topped up daily and this includes a selection of various types of tea. Biscuits are added daily. There is a very comfortable large guest lounge with a well stocked honesty bar and a selection of newspapers and magazines. The breakfast menu is amazing. Guests are offered so much choice of freshly prepared food. The cooked breakfasts are served hot. Presentation of the breakfasts are perfect. The Seafield is a spacious guesthouse and has been tastefully decorated and furnished. Suzanne and Vince are excellent hosts. I have now stayed at the Seafield on numerous occasions and always enjoy my stay there.

Room Tip: The single room at the Seafield is one of the best I have stayed in. It is spacious, light and airy...

Beautiful room - with a modern up to date decor and stylish bathroom too. The breakfasts were fantastic especially the wonderful choice of homemade jams and the service was impeccable. What lets this place down is the old style decor in the hallway and sitting room with a very patterned wall to wall carpet. But we really liked the honesty bar selection of beers and wines. Overall a very good experience for my first ever English seaside b&b.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed our breakfasts and found the service impeccable. We are sorry that the carpet and Guest Lounge were not to your liking - we have tried to incorporate both old fashioned charm and character in some areas with a more modern stylish look in our bedrooms and dining area which has a newly fitted, solid bamboo floor to complement our bespoke oak dining tables and leather chairs.
We hope that you are able to return in the future to see and enjoy our continued improvements.

First impressions count ... at least that's what my mother always told me. Well, the hosts here are very welcoming and friendly .. even when Cinderella-like you scrape in a couple of minutes before mid-night after a long Friday evening drive from the South (sorry again folks!)

We enjoyed a two night stay in a King Room (5 at the back - quiet) and single room (7 small, but all you need - at the front). Both rooms were very comfortable with quality beds and good shower rooms.

Other winning points: a very comfy guest lounge, a good selection of books to borrow, a large screen tv in the room, a good hospitality tray (with decent biscuits) and finally, home-made jams at breakfast .. in other words, all the above add up to a carefully planned and executed operation.

I stay in B&B's a lot on my travels and like to think I know what I would give my guests if I ran one; well, these folks have done just that, and it shows in all the practical detail. So, as the title says ... practically perfect!

Another bonus: Filey is so much quieter than Scarborough or Bridlington, and it looks to be in much better 'condition'; an air of genteel prosperity abounds. I'd say it's a small town that feels that bit more comfortable with itself - one sign is that there are fewer empty shops and just a couple of charity shops, not one on every corner.

Eating out is easy: lots of pub choices, the usual (excellent) Yorkshire fish and chip shops but also a good Italian, Indian, etc. We liked the good choice of cafes and coffee shops (especially the one on the Coble Landing by the boats where we watched/interacted with the local dogs who were walking their owners to the beach).

If you want more 'action' the charms of Scarboro' and 'Brid' are only a short drive away, but I'll be staying at the Seafield in Filey in future.

Absolutely brilliant!.Suzanne and VIncent deserve every bit of praise for the hard work they put in keeping the place spotless and immaculate. The breakfasts are just wonderful just what you need to set you up for a days cliff walking in the area!. Are looking to return soon and recommend this B&B to all.

Everything we had hoped for and more. Suzanne and Vincent, give yourselves a well deserved pack on the back. Immaculate accomodation with breakfasts to match. Suzannes homemade preserves a real added bonus. Keep up the good work and we'll certainly spread the word.
