“Already booked for next year”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

This was our 3rd visit to Reighton Sands. On arrival a lovely lady at reception offered us an upgrade for just £20.00, we found this to be money well spent. The caravan was close to the entertainment building, yet it was so quiet. The caravan itself was spotlessly clean and in excellent order.

The second day the gas fire wouldn't ignite so we reported the fault, within 30 minutes the engineer had been and fixed the fault. Excellent service!

We did notice that the park seemed quieter than in previous years, which we found surprising as Reighton Sands is such a fabulous park. We were very pleased that there was entertainment for the grown ups, not just the kids as there is only so much Agadoo a person can take.

What we can't understand is why people don't admit to taking caravan holidays. We chatted to a couple who said they always stay in caravans but never admit it to their friends or colleagues as it would damage their image. They said they never post a review of the caravan parks in case people guess who they are. We found this to be rather sad and quite snobby. I am happy to say that we don't have such hang ups, but then again we don't pretend to be something we are not.

All the staff here are great. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and have a great sense of humour. The security team do what it says on the tin, they make you feel secure, they are also friendly, helpful and always ready with a witty comment. Great people!

We would have booked for May as well as October, but we've been invited to a wedding in Greece.

A huge thanks to all at Reighton Sands for a great 4 day break.

Wow what an excellent 5* review

Yet another return visitor with nothing but positive comments for us – thank you so much for taking the time to post this.

It gives me great pleasure to read that your accommodation was perfect for you and was as it should be for your arrival. What great service from our maintenance team too! We do try to resolve any faults reported with as little disruption to our guest’s enjoyment as possible and I am pleased that we were able to do this for you.

Your praise for everyone is most welcome and I will definitely pass your kind words on as I know they will be very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you again next October.

Reighton sands 23/09/13 to30/09/13
Ideal size site situated between Scarborough an Bridlington
Near filey.
This will be the fourth time we have stayed at reighton sands(haven site),it’s a good base if you want to explore the east coast. Whitby is only 30 mile or so and robin hoods bay about the same as well as many others .or the north Yorkshire moors if you like.
But if all you want is to stay on site with the kids ,then the haven clubs are there for you. Also there is a nice beech close by, down the hill from the site clean white sand good for sand castles , yes it is a bit of a walk back up , but there is the beach train (high season only ?) which runs from the site to the beach an back free of charge.
For those who want to get about , but don’t have a car the bus service is not bad, ask at reception I think they have time tables. The bus stops are bye the spar shop on far side of the car park.
As for the spar shop it is quite well stocked with the basics at spar prices (not the cheapest ) .
There is also a nine hole golf course at this site , abit challenging for us armatures but fun ,take plenty of spare balls.
As those who have used Haven know there are several different standards of static caravans on site (I think I have tried most of them) , on this trip we had booked two vans .A two bed deluxe and a three bed prestige, now this is where Haven got it a little wrong.
The two bed deluxe appeared to be the better van in its layout furnishings and most of all its position (n’ 7 cedar woods)sea view and decking (and large fridge freezer).
The three bed room ( 7a beech rise) so called top of the range prestige was a bit of a let-down, a little dated and not quite as nice interior( tiny fridge freezer ?) but it did have a DVD player,, mm? But the position of the van left a lot to be desired.
Any way getting back to the site, the entertainment complex typical haven with its amusement arcade, show bar (fun for the kids an big kids of which I admit I am one )
Also there is a swimming pool with lazy river nice in warm weather.
Mash an barrel pub / eatery which are not bad nice food and beer, plus beer garden with playground (pool and darts inside, dart boards could do with replacing).

Room Tip: if you want a view aviod beech rise a1 to a9

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review of our park.

How lovely to read that this is your fourth time here. It sounds like you pretty much have the area all worked out and have made the most of exploring the beauty spots and attractions in the region.

I’m thrilled that you also make the most of what the park has to offer by using the kids clubs and the beach – what amazing views we have down there.

We do use many different makes and models for each grade of accommodation available and there is also a limit on the age for the grade. We also let holiday homes for our lovely owners and these can be high spec in comparison to some of our hire fleet. Next time you visit please call us at park beforehand and we will be happy to supervise your booking for you.

Overall though we are delighted that you had a great holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back here sometime in the near future.

Kind regards

I’m delighted to read that you and your family had such an amazing time here at Reighton Sands and found the site, your accommodation and the facilities met or exceeded your expectations.

This was our first visit to haven having stayed previously in a park resort and Haven was head and shoulders above it. Caravan was excellent so clean, spacious. Facilities modern and clean. Children and us enjoyed lazy river. Entertainment good and food good in the restaurant. Don't expect a big kids indoor area and my one complaint was the outdoor play area was good but there was nothing for under fives outside at all. Security on the front of entertainment complex were so friendly and made a real fuss of the children. Beach was idyllic if a little steep. Now looking at haven sites in Cornwall,

Hi Louise

Thank you so much for your kind comments.

I am thrilled that your first break with Haven Holidays has possibly converted you from previous holiday suppliers - this is fantastic feedback.

The play area outside of the Mash & Barrel is great to keep the kid’s occupied while enjoying a nice meal or warm drink but for the little ones there is also a small play area around the back of the complex on touring area one.

Direct access to the beach from park is a great asset and I agree that it is and idyllic setting. During the summer months we do have the land train to ferry you up and down which is handy after a busy day by the sea.

We hope that you enjoy our other Haven sites as much as you have enjoyed your holiday with us here at Reighton Sands. It would be nice to see you again sometime in the near future.

Kind regards

This is our second visit to Reighton Sands Holiday Park and we will be back next year. We hired a Platinum Caravan and we were well pleased with the location, the van cleanliness and facilities within. We did have a faulty lamp which a phone call to reception had a handyman and an electrician out within 5 minutes and the lamp fixed. On day 3 of our stay the weather changed and we couldn't work out how to turn on the central heating once again a phone call to reception at 9am had a handyman out within 5 minutes and the heating working. Very windy that night but thats not Havens fault and we were snug as a bug. The panoramic sea view from our van was superb and the way the vans are positioned on site most must also enjoy the same sea views. Well done Reighton Sands

What a great review – thank you

It’s lovely to read that after two wonderful visits you will be back again next year too.

It sounds like your holiday home was perfect for you with wonderful views and that central heating you get with the higher grades is ideal for keeping you snug during the colder months. I can’t think of anything better than watching the waves rolling into the bay from the comfort of a cosy holiday home.

We look forward to your return next season.

First time at Reighton Sands, well sign posted and easy to find .
Were initially concerned by the closeness of our caravan to the entertainment centre , but were reassured by the reception staff that it wouldn't be noisy ( it wasn't ) and if we were unhappy they would move us .
Paid to have beds made up on arrival , good money spent ! An excellent service
Caravan was very clean and tidy on arrival and well stocked with equipment.

( A small minus point was , it would have been nice to have a toilet roll and a "guest" size piece of soap ready in the bathroom , especially as we had forgotten to bring any ! This was solved by a quick visit to the well stocked and reasonably priced Spar shop on site )

We ate at the Mash and Barrel most days , reasonably priced with good choice of menu .
A special thank you to Stephen our server, polite and cheerful , helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks .

All in all , a lovely clean, well maintained site and look forward to visiting again .

It’s great news that your first visit to our Reighton Sands was such a positive one with all aspects leaving a good impression.

The team do work hard to provide a clean, tidy and pleasant environment so that our guests can sit back and relax during their stay and it’s good to know that this is not going unnoticed.

Your lovely comments regarding Stephen your server in the Mash & Barrel have been passed onto him – to get a personal mention is brilliant and he is really grateful for your kind words.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future for another excellent break!

Booked a long weekend here and paid for an upgraded caravan for a a little R & R. Arrived Fri afternoon and we were checked in without any problem. The caravan was clean and spacious and fairly well equipped. Blow heating was in every room which was needed at night. The entertainment complex was pretty good with live shows on 2 nights out of the 3 we stayed but a little pricey on some items. The site was well maintained but was really remote (approx 5 miles to nearest town/village). Anyone there without transport are relying on buses that come onto the site to get elsewhere. Overall lovely site helpfull and pleasant staff but isolated.

Hello there thank you for taking the time to post a review.

It sounds like you found the park adequate for your needs with all areas meeting your expectations.

Although we are a little out of the way we are ideally located for that peace and quiet that is often needed from the busy lifestyles of today, but not too far from the lovely seaside towns of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough if you fancy a day out.

We hope to see you back at our lovely site again sometime in the near future.
