We have been to Reighton a few times and like it because u can walk to beach and its not to big .
We havent been as early as April before and found the caravan very cold at night. They do hire heaters but we didnt realise that till day 4. We went to reception and asked for some more duvets and they were brought to our caravan within 15 mins.
Entertainment not as good as previous visits. We stayed a week and so got to see everything.
Well done to Amanda , funstar with many talents.
The showbar was very busy and we found it hard to get a seat.
Mash & Barrel food ok. Portion size not great but comes fast and is nice. TIP --- if you go for the carvery , go early . We went about 7 ish and not much left and meat was at end s of joints so not very good.
Play area at M&B good. No baby swings though.
Our caravan was clean and had everything in it that it should have.
We went to Filey on bus one day , kids go free and it was £4.10 return per adult. Went to Scarborough as well , slightly more expensive, £8.50 return with kids going free.
The hill down to beach is ok going down but a bit hard coming up, especially if you have a buggy or wheelchair. Would definitely advise to use the little train that goes up & down frequently.
All staff we came across were nice and polite and helpful.

The park is well placed on the Yorkshire Coast with direct access to an excellent beach. Within easy reach are the towns of Scarborough and Filey. The park itself is well maintained and a credit to the staff who were obviously working hard. Decent pub food in the Mash & Barrel. Our kids have out grown the entertainment so didn't spend any time there. The swimming pool is quite small for the number of users, otherwise clean and tidy. On site Spar shop is well stocked with essentials and a Tesco Extra is in Filey. We had our dog with us and picked the park for the beach access, we would return.

We have visited this site last year in October and the grandchildren loved it, we booked again Monday to Friday 14th April, this time we booked a prestige caravan as we were given a discount for booking early, brilliant well worth it, Central heating and accommodation wonderful. What amazed me was the staff from going to check in they were great (we were early and the accommodation wasn't ready so they gave us coffees and juice for the children, nice touch ) the staff at the mash and barrel the security guards on duty, the staff for at the pool and pre booked activities were friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Jason Wilkinson a life guard/swim instructor who made one of my friends children feel secure and special when he was afraid to take party in the aqua jets activity he'd booked, he gave him one to one coaching until he was confident to do it by himself, above and beyond his duties so thank you Jason. The concert room was very busy and needed more staff on the bar, a wait of 20 minutes to get a drink is not acceptable so that needs attention. The lazy river was still not opened apparently that was due to someone not applying the handbrake and a car went into it. It wasn't open in October either so come on Haven get it sorted. Otherwise brilliant break the children were made to feel special really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Hello thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our park.

Our hope is that our guests have such a fantastic time here at Reighton Sands that they can’t wait to come back and I am thrilled that we succeeded with you and your family.

You can get a great discount booking in advance and also for revisiting Haven so it’s well worth asking for a quote. It makes the higher grade holiday homes even more affordable and I agree that the prestige range is wonderful with the central heating - so cosy.

It seems like the team have made a great impression too I have passed your kind comments on to all concerned and in particular Jason Wilkinson for his outstanding work encouraging the confidence in your friends son.

The lazy river is very popular and I am sorry that you missed it both times as I’m sure the kids will love it. Hopefully next time you visit you will get to try it out.

We hope to see you again soon.

Kind regards

We had a great time at Reighton sands 4 day break - dropping very lucky with the weather for the time of year . The sun came out when we arrived Monday 14th April and pretty much stayed out .
None of the pictures does the area justice really .
The cliffs around are stunningly beautiful and we had some great walks with our spaniel " Mac " including a great day walking at low tide along the endless beach to the Steeton cliffs visible from the site .
We tried to fit in 3 activities per day - flambrough was very pretty climbing to cliff tops and looking down on the sea birds . Also visited Filey / Brid / Bempton cliffs / Flambrough head and the local area . It didnt rain once !
We were in caravan 36 near the Spar about medium grade as we had our dog . The space is limited but ok for the 4 of us - we hired an extra heater which was useful at night !! You will soon figure out the best way not to freeze at night - we did !
We had also been told there was a Burger king and a Pizza place on site - WRONG ! You have the Mash and barrel and thats your lot . The food is ok tho, and not too expensive but with no competition on site they can sell and charge what they choose right ? There is not much nearby either - we spotted a pizza place called " Valentinos " ( always closed ? - go figure ) and the strangely named " Dotterell " pub . We did not try the pub but heard it was ok . Our problem is we had the dog so was dependant on places being dog friendly which they seldom are in our experience .
We couldnt be bothered to cook so bought takeaways from nearby Brid which was ok - the best being good old fish and chips from the " pride of bridlington " chippy !!
Incidentally , the best food we had locally was at the little cafe bar next to Flambrough head lighthouse . Dog friendly too . We had paninis and large coffees all round . Lovely .

Only negative I can mention was a nearby fellow dog owner in caravan 44 who let their Alsation attack other dogs - including ours - or else left it indoors for hours whilst they went off for the day . Poor thing was crying and howling all day long . We should have reported them . I would also mention many people did not pick up after their dogs . Makes us all look bad and irresponsible .

We would definately come back here - but as I said - bring your warm clothes because it does get chilly at times but then again it is April so can,t complain . Hope you have a great time - we certainly did .

Carl , Roxy , Leila and Mac xx

Hello Carl, Roxy, Leila & Mac the dog

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our park.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here with us at Reighton Sands and that the sun had his hat on for you for the most of your break.

There are some lovely walks from park, we have a leaflet in reception with a few on that lots of our guests have tried out, but it seems like you had no trouble finding your way round.

I have sampled the menu in the Mash & Barrel and found some tasty things on there. Did you know that dogs are permitted into the beer garden? This may be helpful when you come back and visit us again.

All in all a great stay and we look forward to your return.

Kind regards

Been coming here for 6-7 years absolutely love it! Been to primrose valley which has more BUT a different class of people/ families- a smaller holiday park maybe?
The sea-views over Filey bay are amazing- beats being abroad overlooking another hotel lol
All the facilities are great- always busy but very very clean and can always find a spot to sit! The staff are amazing- the sales people very friendly and not pushy at all! The mash and barrel is a lovely setting- a play ground outside for the kids whilst waiting on the food- we've only ever had the breakfast which is lovely! Black pudding!!! Again the staff are friendly and want to help with any questions we had.
I personally don't like amusements but the kids do- something for everyone!
The pools are both amazing- the changing areas are clean and modern ( I stress over cleanliness in swimming areas- but not at Reighton) absolutely love the lazy river outside- many an hour wrinkling up in the water lol!
The on site shop has everything you would need.
The beach access is a good but short hill walk down- but so worth it- the train is brilliant to get back up.

Would we go back? Yes!

Had a lovely stay in a new caravan. The park is clean tidy and good attention to detail making the grounds pretty. The site is located above a beautiful beach therefore giving most caravans a sea view.
The swimming pool looks brand new and was spotlessly clean however the depth of the pool was very disappointing. It is 1m deep in the very middle and the rest is far too shallow to swim. After banging my knees and toes I soon gave up and became cold with aching legs from crouching down. From a toddler/child safety point of view I can understand why it has been done but I like to swim with my 7 year old.
The entertainment was on at different times to the booklet that we were given and was very basic. What happened to the variety acts that haven used to have?
The mash and barrel has a good play area and very friendly staff. It was a nice park to visit but I will visit one with more facilities next time.

Thank you so much for your kind comments.

The team love making sure that the park is in tip top order so that our guests can relax and enjoy their break so it’s great to know that this is not going unnoticed. I agree that the views we have here at Reighton Sands are amazing we are very lucky to have such a beautiful beach right on our doorstep.

We are very proud of our lovely pool area which was updated for the beginning of the 2012 season. With this came the addition of the outdoor lazy river which has proved very popular with our guests, but as with all Haven parks safety is paramount so we hope we have found a healthy balance.

We hope that you visit us again sometime in the future.

We had such a good holiday at Reighton Sands, we didn't want to go home! We were pleasantly susprised by the standard of our caravan, which was the Luxury model I think, and may have been brand new. The carpet in the living area was espcially nice! In fact it was better than our house - more bedrooms, more toilets and more storage! We were pleased that the bedrooms had heaters this time, as on our last caravan holiday in Berwick we were freezing, and this had been my main worry. But we were all so comfortable and warm (with an extra duvet), and even had a doormat delivered to us by a lovely cheerful member of staff who was soaked to the skin as he was caught in a downpour. We only used the pool once as we had so many other things to do, but it was very clean, big enough even when it was quite busy, and reasonably warm. The entertainment was okay for a little while, but my kids (6 and 2) were more interested in the arcades and soft play where the big one blew all of his holiday money! All the staff we had dealings with were very friendly and helpful, including the young man behind the bar in the Mash and Barrel who was amused at my tired face on our last night!! The location is perfect for visiting places - we went to Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Flamingoland and Whitby. We just couldn't quite fit everything in that we wanted to do......so we'll be back next year! Thanks to all at Reighton Sands.

Room Tip: See if you can upgrade if at all possible. The more heating the better.
