Booked day before so got a great deal. Stayed in a 1st floor apartment. Everything you could need, cutlery, pots, pans, dishwasher, washer etc even had highchair and travelcot for our baby! Spotlessly clean! Quiet and relaxed. Price included pool use, sauna and steam room. Will def use again! Very nice and friendly Italian restaurant just across road. Private access down to beach!

Just returned from a week at The Bay staying in a Helm 3 bed cottage. Cottage was great - new build so comfy and well equipped with modern fixtures and fittings. The site is more like a housing estate with a leisure centre at the end of a road than a holiday park - lots of building going on but we didn't find that an issue at all. We went in the pub - nothing great, food very basic. There is a coffee shop and a pharmacy. Pool is great, has a little baby pool and a steam room and sauna. I used the gym - modern equipment; 4 treadmills, 2 cross trainers, 4 bikes (2 of each type), 2 rowing machines and some weights. The changing rooms need their snagging completing - there isn't a mirror in the place, no numbers on the lockers and no bins in the mens locker rooms but sure they will get round to this. The pool is free but you have to pay for the gym unless you own a property - it was £8 for the week. They don't tell you this though - there isn't a lot of information about. The pool and gym opens at 7am and shuts at 8pm but is shut at lunchtime for some reason. The facilities can be used by the public so the pool can get busy, All in all we enjoyed it and will go back. It isn't cheap though but I suppose you are staying in a house rather than a static caravan like the Primrose Valley site next door.

This was an interesting resort as it is still being built and looks more like a Barratt home newbuild estate rather than a holiday park.

We stayed in a 2 bed cottage which was clean, and had excellent facilities including washing machine, dishwasher, wide screen TV etc. The decor was lovely, although the cream carpets probably totally inappropriate for a holiday letting.

The site is about 200 yards from the beach, and there is a private pathway which you can walk, cycle or drive down to the beach (across a building site).

It is a great place to explore North Yorkshire, and we had some good days out in Whitby, Scarborough, Robins Hood Bay etc.

The leisure facilities are OK, with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room plus gym. I went swimming every day, and sensed that more effort could have been made to clean the changing rooms empty the bins etc. The children’s pool is very small.

The onsite pub seemed quite nice, although on the evening I went, there were children dancing on the brand new (and expensive looking pool table), with none of the staff doing anything about it.

Generally a nice base to explore North Yorkshire, and will be better once the building work is complete.
