“Brilliant find-would definately recommend to anyone”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed in the larger of the two cottages (2 adults, 12year old, 16month old and have had a lovely holiday. The cottage is brilliantly located to explore the area ( Danes dyke beach is a must!!) and a lovely place to stay. It's clean, spacious snd has a gorgeous view! The owners left us a welcome package and other bits and bats and the whole house is extremely well stocked with everything you need from kitchen utensils to an iron and iPod music system!
The little garden was lovely to eat out in and my children loved when the cows came into the field next door.
A little washing line is the only thing I would recommend to the owners as we had wet sandy things to hang out each day from a great time at the local beaches. We will definately visit again and hopefully with friends on the adjacent cottage.

“Lovely holiday cottage”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is a beautiful holiday cottage with great facilities. Filey is a lovely location but is a bit weather dependant. Cottage has 2 good sized rooms and 1 small room. Absolutely gorgeous view from upstairs.

“perfect”
Reviewed 24 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Myself and my partner stayed in Filey Cottage for our first family holiday with our 6 month old daughter. It was perfect, it had everything we needed, excellent kitchen facilities, perfect location with an easy walk to the beach and town along a bridleway with the pram. The cottage was immaculate, modern and we felt comfortable staying there as soon as we walked through the door. Also we left our keys in the kitchen draw which the owner kindly posted back to us free of charge. A lovely holiday, would definitely recommend to friends and family.

“A hidden gem.”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Nestled away outside Filey, on the way to Muston are the Mill View cottages.

If you are after beachside accommodation then this isn't for you. However if you are after more from your stay than the same beach every day then this is a winner.

The owners have fabulously renovated the granary building o the farm to a very high spec. Definitely a home from home.

5 mins. drive to the beach, 10 minutes walk via then nearby bridle way for those who enjoy a walk and don't have to lug too much beach equipment and baggage around. (Like me!)

The location (for those with transport) means you're 20 mins from Scarborough and the same from Bridlington. However, a 5 min walk gets you to the station at Filey for a £3.90 day return to Scarborough (and on to York etc if you wish).

Can't fault the accommodation which comfortably housed a family of four and 2 grandparents easily. Enjoyed the wildlife in the back garden ranging from the usual cows to pheasants, deer and a host of bird life. A fab week. Will definitely be back.

“Fantastic cottage, great location, friendly cows = perfect weekend”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Arrived to a great welcome from Grandpa Bill (who I wanted to adopt as my grandad!!) who showed us around and was happy to tell us about the history of the property. The property has kept some of it's historic charm with the exposed beams, thick walls and wide window ledges but has been very well decorated in a modern and contemporary way. From the lovely wooden floors, plentiful lounge seating, massive tv, music system, large dining area, well equipped kitchen and downstairs loo, to the lovely feature staircase up tot he bedrooms and bathrooms. Our bedroom was a large twin with loads of storage space for clothes and fantastic sea views on one side and the huge gravelled parking area and garden on the other side. The beds have the thickest quilts ever and are really comfortable.
The 2 kids in our group had the small twin which is fine for kids. They didn't have wardrobe space but did have shelving which was ample for a 3 night stay.
The double was for the birthday girl and partner and they had a flat screen tv on the wall and en suite bathroom. Their bathroom was stunning. The shower was huge and the décor was beautiful.
There was also a large family bathroom with a bath and shower over it. Plenty of shelving for your toiletries, heated towel rail and again very modern and tastefully decorated.
From the lounge area there was access to the garden through the double doors. The garden was well kept with wooden table and benches and extra seating - in good weather it would be perfect for barbecues and sitting out. The cows in the field directly next to the garden are so friendly and come to the gate - many of them enjoy having their heads scratched and tickled!!
The whole property is covered by smoke alarms - which we found out are quite sensitive as they went off the first morning when grilling bacon - they are LOUD!!!
The whole cottage is gorgeous and we could not find anything that we would rate at less than 10 out of 10. We all said we would definitely go back again and would recommend it as a great place to stay.

“The perfect ingredients for a family holiday.... 5*”
Reviewed 25 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Firstly..... If like me you're google mad and read every review thrice before committing to booking, please please totally disregard the previous review of 'A little disappointing'..... If you are the sort of person who lets the absence of a Cafetiere blight your holiday experience your missing the bigger picture!

This property delivered on every level from the warm welcome we received from 'Grandpa' to the quality interior and beautiful sunrises that can be seen across the fields, with views out towards the sea and Flamborough Head.
There's a lovely 'home from home feeling' and my 2 1/2 year old son was more than happy (and safe) playing in the garden and 'chatting' to the cows over the back hedge.
Both warm and comfortable this cottage made a great base for exploring Filey and the Yorkshire coastline.
If you're looking for somewhere to share some organic family time this cottage has to be hard to beat on quality, location and value.... We will most definitely be back ( Cafetiere or not!!)

“a bit disappointing”
Reviewed 4 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This property is well finished and feels as though it was recently decorated. The views are great across to Flamborough Head. Lots of parking. Quick drive to the beach and town. The decor and furniture is modern. two bedrooms are quite big and a small room with twin beds which was ok for the children.

The disappointments were really in what was missing and not with what was provided. I would have made comments in a guest book but none was provided. Also missing:-
Bedside tables to sit the bedside lamps on
Mirror in the bedroom (lovely big mirror in the dining part of the kitchen)
Soap in the loos
Towels
Dishcloth
Additional bin sacks for the kitchen bin
Cafetiere
Lamps in the sitting room
