“Perfect view.”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were met by Beverley & Malcolm and shown around the bungalow.
Very clean and plenty big enough for us all.
It has everything thing we needed for a perfect holiday plus a wonderful view.

“Fantastic, clean, homely accommodation in a great location”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Stayed here many times because it's spotlessly clean and really cosy. We always sleep well here too - don't know if it's the comfy bed or sea air or both! Great location - there is a large convenience store on the site with restaurants and the bus stops outside to take you to Filey. It's great for couples or taking kids - mine enjoy the go karting nearby and there is a great beach 5 mins drive away that is lovely for long walks. It's definitely home from home and look forward to coming again

“Misleading and misrepresentative”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Hello, I am using my son's account because I don't have one.

My review:-

When we arrived no one knew who we was at reception or who the owner was. There was no one there. After waiting for at least 20-30 mins my son decided to walk down to see if anyone was at the chalet and lucky he did as they was about to leave.

Which would have meant returning home and money wasted. The chalet was clean I will give it that, but the kitchen was tiny with no practical space for preparing food at all and if you were wheelchair bound, you would find it almost impossible (apart from the fact that there isn't a ramp at the front door). Hot water was a joke as the pressure on it was so low that it dribbled out of the taps, the shower turned itself off after a few minutes so you had to get out and restart it. The bedlinen was clean but strongly smelled of softener so badly it caused one of us to have a asthma attack and also felt itchy.

The television channels were not all present so you couldn't use it to its fullest extent . There wasn't any heating in the living room (and it was cold at night ) as the fire only gave a "glow " but no heat regardless of adjusting the settings and waiting for it. Also found the radiator in the living room didn't work either so we wasn't best pleased at all.

Until we actually arrived we didn't know that electric was provided by core meter. No mention of this in the advert which I found misleading and misrepresentative. In the living room was a small badly scarred table with a very thin runner on it and two chairs, with two more what I call garden chairs that were behind the kitchen door. There is not a three piece suite only a two seater couch and one chair and a pouffé. They told us they had put "about £10 in the meter " but they had used some. My son has an electric pre-payment meter and a lot running off it (e.g. computer, fridgefreezer, washer, cooker, kettle etc) and that would have lasted more than a week .

The "dryer " in the advert turned out to be a airer, a big difference between the two and confusing as its not crystal clear as it to what it should be.

The board games provided are in a tatty condition and we did not make use of them, the DVDs are from newspapers from some years ago, out of date of literature, the condiments provided looked to have to been there for some time and we bought our own, we had to buy a baking tray and used a pan to boil water as the kettle left a lot to be desired.

Further, the advertisement states that a car is "not necessary" - we beg to differ on this. Having arrived on public transport, my son had to ask the owners to help us with our luggage because otherwise we would have to have walked along the main road or walk the long way around through the camp. As I have difficulty walking and my grandson was very tired, this was unacceptable and I would strongly advise that anyone attending Blue Dolphin in general have a car unless you want to spend a great deal of money on bus fares. Staying on the camp is expensive anyway (hiring a family kart to go around the camp costs £10 plus a deposit for an hour).

Woodlice also liked to pay us a visit, and found them throughout which did not put us at ease in the least. All this lead us to leave early on Thursday morning.

Thank you,

P Brogan
