a great atmosphere and the staff were helpful and very happy to look after us.the meal was well presented and it was hard what to choose as the menu had some interesting dishes on offer. a lot better than your average seaside eatery. I look forward to my next visit

“Friendly, nice new tearoom.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014 via mobile

Our first visit here, they weren't here last time we were in Filey. Very friendly staff, plenty of room, you're not sitting on top of each other. Great selection of afternoon teas including gluten free option. We had afternoon tea here 2 out of our 4 day stay.
We have been to Filey many times and this is well up there with the best of the well established tea rooms.
They close late afternoon for a short time and re-open for evening meals. We didn't sample the evening meals but we definitely will next time.

“Delicious food”

Very good food, we both had 3 courses and all were excellent, especially the desserts! Small restaurant, with very nice staff, perfect for couples and small groups. Defiantly worth a visit.

“Excellent service, excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

We visited on Sunday for a family gathering. There were eight in our party and our friendly waitress couldn't have been more helpful. One of the group needed to eat and leave earlier than the rest of us so she organised that his meal arrived earlier.
All our meals were delicious - portion sizes are big - and I would particularly recommend the home-made scones with clotted cream and home-made strawberry jam. All the cakes and scones are baked by Charlottes' own baker on the premises and it shows in the quality.
In addition, they offer a child's size portion of most of the lunches on offer.
We ended up staying for two hours and were made to feel very welcome.
It is a lovely place, with a nice, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space between the tables so it doesn't feel at all cramped.
A lovely addition to Filey. We will definitely return.
