“Clean, cosy and welcoming - great base for the Cleveland Way/Wolds Way”

Sea Breakers does what it says on the packet - it is a clean, cosy terraced cottage which has had a recent tasteful refurbishment. Adrienne and Rex were great hosts, and Rex even made our arrival easier for us by collecting us from the railway station.

The cottage was ideal for a couple, and would also suit a family with two children, although the quite steep and narrow stairs might not suit people with mobility problems. No sea views, but the location in the Old Town is very convenient, within a few minutes of food shops one way and the beach the other. Equally important for busy times in Filey, it is very quiet at night and the sound of seagulls and owls as you drop off is very soothing.

The location was ideal for anyone who, like us, had come primarily to walk part of the Cleveland Way. Most sites say that the house is five minutes' walk from the beach - but equally important for walkers, it's also right beside the Ravine which separates Filey from St Oswald's Church and the starting off point for both the Cleveland Way and the Wolds Way, which is only a few mintues further on. You can set off, buy some crab sandwiches from the seafood stall at Coble Landing and be on either of these long distance walks within ten minutes.
