“very nice and great location”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

Only spent one night here, room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. In a great location on the main street of Hawes. Had our dinner here too but was a little disappointed, everything seemed to have come from Iceland, and when they are charging £8+ for a main course that's not what I expect. Saying that, the sandwiches and baguettes looked very good.

We recently went in here for something to eat. I did'nt want much so asked for a chicken&bacon baguette with a few chips. I could'nt believe it when I saw the plate. I had to ask to have one half of the baguette wrapped up so I could take it away. A very nice and polite young man ( About 12/13 ) did just that and all with a lovely smile. If a stay here would be as good as the food and service then you would'nt be able to go wrong I don't think.

Stayed in room 4 over Easter. rooms very clean and comfortable. Both adults and dogs were made very welcome and the owners and bar staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us.Had a great night with the locals on Saturday night. Good choice for breakfast. Food good and also a good selection of beers and wines. Cannot fault anything especially for the price.

Room Tip: If staying with dogs then room 2 is more ideal but is directly over the bar area

Couldn't fault a thing. The room was pristine, breakfast was great and the pub was very homely. The landlady was very warm and welcoming. Very well-priced too. I was hiking the Pennine Way and I imagine that a lot of the custom comes from hikers. Top marks.

Had a lovely weekend break- along with my 2 little terriers - the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean - the hosts could not do enough to make sure we had eveything we needed and the breakfast and bar food were delicious - great value for money we will definitely be back.

I stayed here in October while walking the Pennine way. I stayed in a single room which had a separate shower room across the landing. The room was very comfortable indeed and the lady in charge was very friendly and accommodating. I didn't eat dinner here but I did have the breakfast the next morning which was good. Best thing about the place was the people and the value of the room - absolutely amazing!
