Called in for lunch a couple of times during the week we stayed up in the dales. We had a selection of main meals, light snacks, cakes and drinks and it was all top notch even the service was fantastic, only downside is that we don't live nearer but when we are next in the area we will definitely be revisiting!!

Called in with the family (6 of us) on Easter Monday, lovely little café, waitress lovely and bubbly and most helpful. One of our party was gluten free but gluten free but they had great choice of soups and I went for the butternut squash, potato and ginger with gluten free bread!!-delicious. The children had a selection of the little people and tiny tots menu- which has some lovely healthy choices, colouring sheets were also provided and a treat for the kids out of the easter box when they had finished, delighted children to say the least! The rest of the party had a selection of ciabatas, baguettes which were all very tasty they told me with wonderful salads. If you have room don't miss out on the selection of homemade cakes, ive never seen anything like it.

Old-style, rip-off-the-tourist type place that I thought had disappeared from the Yorkshire Dales. Too expensive, awful service, cramped, a bit grubby and most things "on" the menu were sold out. Not good enough! Will not be going back.

Revisited The Bay Tree with friends on a wet and very windy lunchtime. As we walked through the door we were greeted with a lovely warm tearoom which was so very welcome!! We sat at a table near the back and ordered our food and drinks. We had a butternut squash soup which was divine and a selection of the ciabattas and toasted sandwiches and a selection of the homemade cakes afterwards. Everything we had was fantastic and the service was excellent. If we are in the area again we will definitely be revisiting The Bay Tree for a 3rd time!

We called into this cafe on Monday afternoon after a long walk. Not many places are open in Hawes on a Monday! We sat at a vacant table and waited over 10 minutes to be served - it would appear the waitress had not noticed us arriving or cleared the tables from previous visitors. The cafe was not especially busy! We had to ask for our order to be taken. The coffee and tea were ok and came quickly once we had ordered..... We won't hurry back due to the poor service.
