We visited here on the week of the run up to the TdF, and expected it to be very busy. But, it was not intolerable and very reasonable priced for the full entrance fee. Thankfully they were making the famous Wensleydale as we looked around the museum part. We also waited for the film to start from beginning (at the start of the museum) which was worthwhile. Intriguingly it seemed as though the museum had the very same information, maybe the old attractions, in the creamery side of the museum.

We didn't sample the café or the restaurant sadly but we did taste all the cheeses on offer; delicious! And bought some rounds as gifts.

Lots of parking space and easily located,

We stopped here with mixed expectations. We were told the factory was not producing cheese on the day of our visit and were offered reduced price (£4 for 2 adults and a child) entry to the museum and tour. The museum was fascinating - a lot of displays and information boards describing the history of cheese making in Wensleydale, how cheese is made, lots of fascinating facts about dairy farming and the dale and the Wallace and Gromit connection.

We then viewed the factory which was still interesting even though staff were disinfecting rather than cheese making.

We then went to the restaurant for lunch. Top quality food with imaginative use of excellent ingredients. And beautiful views.

The shop with cheese tastings was also very interesting and informative.

Excellent visitor attraction!

The perfect little trip, whilst staying in the Dales, it's really interesting to see them making them making the cheese. Plus the cheese room in the main centre is fantastic, the opportunity to try all the cheeses, I could have stayed all day

although the entrance fee is only £2.50 per adult I wouldn't pay it again, the museum and viewing gallery are very limited, wish I had known before I visited, There was 3 adults so for £7.50 id have expected better than one small room for museum and another small room with a window for viewing gallery, if I could have been bothered with the hassle would have asked for refund! however...the rest of the place was amazing, lush scones in café, lush tasting gallery where you can try all the cheese (you don't need to pay entrance to go in here) and big bales decorated as cheese outside for the children to play on! really liked it here!! could see the white bike painted on the hill from the outdoor café! lush

We liked the cheese shop where you had the opportunity to taste before buying, and we actually bought four brilliant cheese types. The cafe was very busy and probably didn't look or operate at its best during our visit. The 'tour' of the processing plant was very disappointing on our visit where there was very little happening and I didn't think it was particularly good value for money.
