“Loved the hotel”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We stayed for 1night only at the hotel and enjoyed everything about it. The suite we got was lovely very clean and luxurious. The 5 course meal was wonderful as was the breakfast. The staff were all extremely friendly down to earth people. There was a lovely garden to explore and enjoy. We also enjoyed the walk through the village of Goldsborough and visited the local church.
We would love to go back again! Very memorable!

Room Tip: The hotel only had suites? All great

We visited today for a pre booked Afternoon Tea. The staff, and our young waiter in particular, were absolutely lovely and welcoming. We had a walk around the grounds to admire the gardens then settled in the beautiful tea room to enjoy our food. It was an absolute delight. Four different types of sandwiches, warm scones with butter, cream and jam and a top layer of different small cakes. Two pots of tea later and we were full to bursting. I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to celebrate the joy of an English Afternoon Tea.

We were looking for something different for a couple of nights away near to Harrogate and came across the details for Goldsborough Hall via the Visit Yorkshire website. After seeing the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor we booked for 2 nights B & B. Wow are the only words to describe the hall on entering and this continued as we were shown to our room. Palatial, spacious with an ensuite to match. Breakfast was superb and there were no problems with my being gluten free.
We partook of Royal Afternoon Tea on the second day and words cannot describe how fantastic it was. Delicate finger sandwiches, petite cakes, cream scone and raspberry trifle to finish it off! If you book in for this you certainly don't need any lunch beforehand and nothing afterwards for a long time!
All in all a fantastic place to stay, all of the staff were friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Room Tip: There are only 6 suites to choose from; we stayed in The Wharton Suite which overlooked the beautifu...

We chose to stay at Goldsborough Hall as we wanted to experience a stately home style stay in a B&B environment rather than a country house hotel. We were not disappointed. With only a handful of rooms, we felt that we were the only guests - in fact at dinner we were. The meal was excellent, complimenting the salubrious surroundings. The gardens are a delight as is the library, we were disappointed that we did not have longer to enjoy this lovely room. Our room was large and filled with character, the four poster was almost the size of some smaller hotel rooms we have stayed in! The staff were friendly and relaxed and on departing it was lovely to chat to the property's owners, who took a genuine interest in our travels. Certainly a unique experience.

The weekend was booked as a surprise and I was even more confused when we pulled up outside what looks like a stately home, absolutely gorgeous hotel with stunning grounds and fantastic service to match. I honestly can't fault anything. We had an indulgent room with double Jacuzzi bath, the most stunningly ornate four poster bed and a white chesterfield to top it off. The hotel is still lived in by the Ogelsby family and at first I did feel like I was intruding in their home but the welcome and service from the minute we walked in puts you at ease and you soon relax. The hotel is in a fab location so can choose to venture into Leeds or Harrogate. We only had breakfast at the hotel which was personalised to your taste. Yummy! The outdoor hot tub is worth a visit so don't forget your swimwear! Thank you Goldsborough hall - we will return!

Room Tip: Spoilt for choice - you won't be disappointed with any room choice!

Goldsborough Hall provided the perfect setting for our son's wedding.Everything went extremely smoothly & the wonderful relaxed atmosphere was very much appreciated by all the guests.
All the staff were friendly & efficient, the food was delicious, the rooms beautifully set out & the gardens were fabulous.
Our room was extremely comfortable, with the biggest bed we've ever slept in! We did have a problem with the shower, but this was quickly solved with the addition of a new battery in the operating system.
I also particularly liked the way the breakfast table was set out for the family on the following morning.
Thank you for making the whole occasion so memorable.

We would like to thank Goldsborough Hall and its staff for a wonderful weekend, everything ran like clockwork and made our daughters wedding day extra special.
We found the bathrooms showers fantastic and after reading how one guest says you need an engineering degree to work them we found them extremely simply to use, no problem.
The grounds of Goldsborough Hall were simply stunning and credit must go the groundsman.

Room Tip: We looked at all the rooms when we booked the wedding venue, all were to a very high standard.
