“Fab!”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 via mobile

We visited Mother Shiptons cave today and really enjoyed it! Some great history and fascinating stuff! Nice little walk along the river to start there are some cool little wood carvings to keep you entertained as you walk and some swings for any kids, then down to the petrifying well to see the teddy bears turning to stone and the koi carp swimming around, up to mother Shiptons cave where there is about a 5 minute talk about her history, then to the wishing well to make a wish! It's a really nice little day out and you can exit at the bottom near the museum/gift shop and have a walk up into the town or walk down the opposite side of the river and stop for a bite to eat! If it rains take a coat, if you're a complainer don't bother going! Overall a great visit today, happy that this attraction is actually being properly looked after!

“A nice day out”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

We went here a few years ago great to take a picnic and make a day of it. I have to say i don't believe in magic however i did make a wish (go find the place & make a wish) my wish came true within a year!
Play area for kids, a little town that you can wander around as well.

“Great fun”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Beautiful walks / scenery / picnic areas along the river.
The story of Mother Shipton will enthrall the children.
The attraction has a small tea room with a very limited menu, and a small museum.
I like this as it shows it hasnt become over commercialised, and has kept its charm.
Great place to spend half a day, followed by a walk around the beautiful town of Knaresboro just over the bridge.

“Magical”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

I have loved this place from being a child and was excited to take my children. Unfortunately it rained heavy during I visit but this didnt dappen our enjoyment. We was there for about 2 hours if the day had been nicer I believe we woukd of stayed a lot longer with a picnic and use of the adventure playgrounds. Its such a magical place and was enjoyed by my 10,3 and 2 year old. The young lad was extremley helpful in the gift shop. And the treasure hunt added to the enjoyment. We will certainly be back.
