Visited the Mitre on 30 June for lunch. Generous portions, above average, although the large fishcakes could perhaps taste more of fish (perhaps fish pie instead?). Helpful staff.
The pub is convenient for transport, situated right opposite the train station. Parking is not so easy, but discs are readily available from shops, allowing up to 2 hours' free on-street parking.

This is the pub to come to if you love you beer, amazing range of ales and largers. I have eaten here twice and the food is top notch. Rooms are really nice too.

This is third visit to the pub & we have never been disappointed. We found it while been on holiday & went for a day trip recently, & it's as good as we remember. The staff are very friendly always a good selection of real ales & German Beers, we have had both daytime & evening meals & the quality was good both times. All this & dog friendly too.

Not a huge menu but a large enough selection of bar food and what we had was good quality. The range of real ales was very impressive and keenly priced. Friendly bar staff and a pleasant outdoor area not dominated by smokers.
