Stepping back in time with excellent service, lovely food and a peaceful location. You are truly cut off from the world with very limited mobile phone service and wifi. Excellent walks on the doorstep. The owners are so friendly and helpful and the whole experience incredibly relaxing. No frilly bits here with fancy decor and over priced designer bits and bobs but that adds to the charm. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had!

Had an offer for afternoon tea with Anchor butter, two for one, we arrived in lovely weather and two hour later left in the rain. The tea was sublime, there were various teas we could have, I had yorkshire tea and my friend had camomile however you spell it. Several sandwiches eg salmon, ham, egg, cheese then a small pot of something that had small round choc balls on top. Also scones with cream and jam, dainty cakes all perfectly lovely. The host was very accomodating when we left he loaned us an umberella and told us to leave it near our car, then he would collect it later. The Grange was a magnificent house, the gardens looked wonderful and I could imagine sitting out there in the sun. My friend and I decided to return when the weather was better, great walks in that area and the countryside with the lambs frollicking with their babes. Makes you want to see this place and actually the lambs were not frollicking, tho it sounded good to write that. They were too busy muching the grass. Be careful when driving as they wander across the road without looking.!!!

Room Tip: Didn;t stay at the hotel but the place appeared impressive.

Most enjoyable Sunday afternoon tea, lovely selection of sandwiches, home made cakes with yummy jam and clotted cream for the scones
Tea and coffee on tap all during the eats at no extra charge, surroundings dated a little but full of antiques and memorabilia
Staff very friendly and most gorgeous part of the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors

as always bertie Tom and jane give us a very warm welcome.
even if it had been a month, a year or a decade since the last visit, they remember who you are and have the knack of knowing what you like.
the location next to the moors, the atmosphere and ambience leaves nothing to be desired.
homely food well served and good value makes a lovely break.
whether its afternoon tea, lunch or dinner there is not much that you could want.
by my level of expectations few hotels can meet my overall needs
i highly recommend this hotel over and over again.

Just returned from a few days with friends at this truly lovely hotel. We have been going for years and always receive the warmest of welcomes. The food is second to none with home made biscuits, scones, cakes etc. etc. My only complaint is that I am full before I have managed to try all of it.

If you want a peaceful location in the most beautiful setting with wonderful attention to details -then this is for you.

Wishing Jane, Bertie,Tom and all the staff particularly the fabulous chef - a well earned rest - until we come back again in April!!!

Room Tip: I clicked on fitness centre by mistake - there isn't one

Just returned from a 2 night stay with friends. What a magical time- wonderful food, welcoming staff, log fire and comfortable lounge to while away the hours - a safe haven. Just ask and you receive. Personal attention by all the family and staff- what more would you want.
Looking forward to the next visit- it can't come quick enough.

This was really nice without being stuffy. Service was friendly and brisk. On a November afternoon, tea was served in the spacious lounge, which has lots of seating areas so you are not on top if each other even if it's busy. Because of the 2 for 1 offer our tea for two was only £14.50 which was truly excellent value: sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and lots of delicious little cakes. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Haven't stayed here yet so can't comment on the rooms, but it is a wonderfully peaceful loca...
