We spent a whole morning here and was money well spent. The views are amazing and great for castle lovers!! You cant go to Richmond and miss out the Castle!

Location: is good, you have to park miles away but its a great walk.
Entrance fee: £4.50 for adults.
Nothing much to see inside and in my opinion theres not enough information with the ruins...
Theres a good view of the Richmond town on top of the castle, and you need a decent pair of flat shoes when climbing the tiny stairs/ steps and cobbled stones...
If you like history, you will enjoy this, the kids will probably enjoy the souvenir shop, but nothing special...
The main attraction in Richmond, on a sunny day nice to climb to the top of the Keep and see the surrounding countryside, Maybe not the best place on a rainy day as there is very little cover besides the Keep
Castle history was well presented in an exhibition.
Parking - English Heritage book said 2 hours free parking in the market square. We parked, and got a ticket with £25 fine. Apparently it was 'disc zone' although there was unclear markings as to what was a disc zone and what wasn't, and no indication of how to get the disc.Felt very angry - sorry won't be visiting Richmond again.
Not a bad walk around a smaller castle. Informative exhibition with a few stairs and rooms to explore. Shame you cannot see the prison cells from the war.
