Great location - next to cinema and cafe. House is superb. Rooms are spacious and well - equipped. Needs decorating and a good deep clean. Was very noisy in morning and last thing at night. All 4 of us were woken up a few times even though we all wore ear-plugs - we were
there for 2 days and this was this only down side. People need to be made aware to keep noise to a minimum especially in a new house!!!!

Stayed for one night only with family & friends, we were made to feel very welcome, rooms clean with towels, TV, tea, coffee, biscuits etc, ours was a twin with a nice en suite shower room, & a nice view of the river behind us. Downstairs has a nice lounge & breakfast room with garden view, there is parking space on the drive, & its only a short walk into Richmond centre. Breakfast very nice with a good choice as well as usual full English (as a veggie it would be nice if veg sausages were available) Overall a pleasant stay & would definatly visit again.

Very homely establishment with comfortable rooms and a relaxing lounge - thankfully without a TV! Jenny is a friendly host and provides an excellent breakfast with the best black pudding I have tasted in years. An easy uphill walk into town but after visiting the various watering holes in the town it's an even easier downhill walk back to the b & b!! With only a few minutes drive to the wonderful Yorkshire Dales and a minutes walk to the Swale riverside, Bridgedown House couldn't be better situated. We will return!

My Partner arranged a special weekend for me in Richmond to celebrate my 50th. Bridgedown House is tucked away by the Station in Richmond and is run by Jennifer Wilkinson who was both welcoming and friendly on arrival.

This spotless B&B was warm, modern and extremely comfortable. We had an en-suite room with tv, sky tv, and the complimentary tray with hot chocolate, tea bags, coffee and lovely biscuits. The B& B offers a delightful guests lounge and use of the computer or free wi-fi if you bring your own laptop.

The bed was one of the most comfortable i have ever lay in and the bedding was crisp and fresh. Hand was and even shower gel was provided. The surroundings are beautiful and our bedroom overlooked the river at the back of the property.

With a choice of breakfasts from cereals and fruit , to salmon and scrambled egg muffins or a full english breakfast, this is a wonderful and welcoming place to stay.

On all counts... service, facilities, location. My group of 10 on a hen weekend couldnt really fault this place at all.

We raised one minor comment that a couple of the showers ran hot/cold when we all tried to use them at the same time (probably wouldnt happen to those not travelling as a group), but the landlady was already looking into some of the showers being replaced anyway - so shouldnt be an issue.

Highly recommended....

We stayed here after travelling to watch Bristol City play Middlesborough. The B and B is run by a friendly, young couple who own a large and well-appointed house near the river. The room was spacious and well-furnished with Wi-fi AND Sky TV! Breakfast was lovely and we were able to leave our car in the drive while we explored Richmond. A great stay. You must visit the Old Station, which is a short stone's throw from the house; there you will find a small cinema, cafe/restaurant, beer, cheese, chocolates all made on the premises and a shop with a wonderful selection of locally made jams, preserves, pickles and sauces. Richmond is picturesque with an imposing castle. Well worth a visit and you know where to stay!
