“Boozy weekend”

Welcome New Year break to recharge batteries. Overall had a good time! Stairs and rooms were too hot! Rooms were nicely decorated and fairly comfortable. Receptionist-frosty on arrival. Coralee was lovely and couldn't be more helpful, we gave her a nomination for best member of staff, she said she loved her job and obviously did! Had a good time in the bar, chatted with very nice girl behind the bar and a young waiter who had finished his shift. The barmaid recommended the Turf to eat which was very nice. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again, we can be very choosy!!!

My team and I are so pleased that you had an enjoyable stay and able to recharge your batteries. I apologise that the receptionist on duty who checked you in was not welcoming and freindly as is our normal standard. I am pleased however that you found Coralie to be lovely and helpful. She was thrilled with your nomination. We look forward very much to welcoming you back soon.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that some of the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms that we have stayed in are all in need of updating. The beds are very uncomfortable, the shower in room 8 is a joke, and they vacuum the chairs with the same vacuum they do the floors - not so good if you have an expensive outfit on. I would not recommend this hotel.

We've just returned from a night at the King's Head. As it was a last minute escape, we hadn't booked a room and just turned up at the door. The manager was so kind as to show us all the rooms she had available, and we chose our favourite - number 4 on the second floor, overlooking the market, huge bed, comfortable sofa, all in all relaxation and peace. We didn't eat at the hotel, (ate at Rustique restaurant - delicious), but we did enjoy a couple of well-kept pints in front of the blazing fire. The whole experience of Richmond, a town we didn't know beforehand, was very agreeable. The locals are friendly, and particularly the hotel staff, who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Parking is a bit strange in Richmond - you have to get a free disc if you want to park in the market square, but the hotel has its own free car park which we made use of, (although it doesn't have many places.)
Our trip was like going back in time, in a good way. I don't think everyone would feel the the same about the King's Head - it's an old building, so it has its imperfections and quirky features - but we loved it and would definitely return. The cooked breakfast was good too..

Our third visit was as enjoyable is the first two. Food and everything was great. However two attributes make this hotel special;
1) The building itself. Built is 1712 as a townhouse it has all the history and character you could wish for.
2) It always feels like a family run establishment. The staff including manager Myckala, go out of their way for you. Danielle told me that she had worked there for four and a half years "because it's great, everyone who works here gets on well together."
Happy staff make for happy guests.

Room Tip: Go for first floor front! Spacious and elegant.

If you like your hotels a bit more traditional with high ceilings, chandeliers and log fires then look no furthur than the kings head hotel. Its only two floors and we had a view over the market place. The room was spacious with a queen sized bed, settee and plenty of storage. The bathroom had both a bath and shower. We loved the large corridors and seated areas on the landings. It may have een cold outside but we loved having drinks by the log fire. Very reasonably priced too.

Room Tip: we had room 5 which overlooked the market place. very quiet rooms.

Thank you for all your kind comments. We are really lucky with the size of the rooms and the location of the hotel - overlooking a beautiful cobbled Market Square. I have passed on to the team all your positive comments and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.
