Called in for lunch while out walking and exploring Richmond. Lovely friendly atmosphere, olde worlde with modern touch. Service excellent and staff very friendly while been professional and polite. Food plentiful, tasty and well presented, coffee and beer very good. More room than first appears. All in all very good value for money and a visit is highly reccomended.

Had lunch here after a lovely county walk from Richmond to Easby and back (well worth the walk by the way). No complaints re service or beer - but food was mixed. I had cheese and chutney sandwiches which were delicious and plentiful. Others in our group ordered the sharing platter. it looked great on arrival - onion rings, prawns, mushrooms, chicken etc - but they soon discovered it was all very much deep fried and dripping in grease.
