I didnt stay at The Wayfarer but did eat there on a couple of occasions and found the food and wine was outstanding. If I didnt travel with the dog I would certainly consider staying there as I found the people and the atmosphere absolutely first class.

I booked a two night stay at the Wayfarer over the 'halloween' weekend as a celebartion of my husbands birhday. He was keen to visit Robin Hood's Bay but having never stayed there I searched for suitable accomodation through the internet and discovered this place. Perfect location, excellent reviews - but you just never know.

From the moment we arrived late on the Friday afternoon we felt like we'd come home. The welcome we received from Chris when we got there was incredibly warm and he made us feel so welcome.

We hadn't booked into The Bistro for that evening's meal but instead ate down the road, in the lower part of Robin Hood's Bay.

Breakfast the following morning at the Wayfarer was absolutely fantastic. Chris and Lucy ensured that we, along with all of the other guests, could have had anything we wanted,
Unfortunately for my husband it was so good that he didn't have the need to indulge in a lunch of fish and chips when we visited Whitby during that day. We'll just have to go back again.

That evening we ate in The Bistro - and I can only say that the reviews just don't do the place justice. The ambience, choice and quality of food, service - and overall customer care were just phenomenal.

Chris and Lucy are the most sincere, hard working, hospitable couple we have had the pleasure of meeting. If they weren't so busy looking after their customers they would happily sit down and talk with you all day long.

The next day, Sunday, after two, what I would call, perfect days, my husband got exactly what he'd wished for when he first suggested that we visit Robin Hood's Bay - lashing rain and a raging sea.

Altogether the most perfect weekend!

we visited the bistro for a meal out, and found that most dishes were good value for money. Some of our table were big fish eaters, and they could tell that the fish was not as fresh as it could have been, and were dissapointed and let down by this. We felt that the quality of the fish dishes did not reflect there price.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Wayfarer. We booked the B&B because of the fantastic reviews on trip advisor and we have to say that we agree with everything that has been written already about this wonderful B&B. We couldn't fault anything, we stayed in room number 4 at the top of the house, we had a lovely view of the sea, large comfortable room, great bathroom with a wonderful large shower, fantastic tv, good quality furniture. The breakfast is amazing, filled us up for the whole day. We ate in the Bistro both nights we were there, the food was terrific and very reasonably priced and the service fantastic. This is the best B&B we've ever stayed in and we will be recommending it to all our family and friends.

What a cracking B&B, beautiful rooms that are immaculately clean and spacious, and very roomy, we had room 4 with the added luxury of having a lounge area.
Both Chris and Lucy are charming people who work hard, from first thing in the morning to last thing at night, to ensure you get the best from your stay. The lower part of the house is the Bistro and believe me when I say the food is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. You have to try the strawberry and banana cheesecake, i think for a small moment I died and went to heaven. In the morning a very hearty breakfast awaits you, if you want it, or you can choose a lighter option, again you can pretty much chop and change to suit your mood.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting a get away from it all break. gem of a find which I'm sure we will use on a frequent basis.

Just had two nights at Wayfarer, got to be best B & B we have stopped at. Chris and Lucy make you feel very welcome the minute you get there, and even help you upstairs with your luggage. We had a room with a balcony absolutely wonderful, good clean room, spotless bathroom with fantastic shower and lovely thick towels.

Both evenings we ate in the bistro downstairs again first class service, and wonderful food, all freshly cooked to order, both nights meal was fantastic and at end of night Chris always had time for a chat.

Just a word of warning for those who are on a diet thinking of visiting, forget about your diet if you order a full english breakfast, have never had such a filling breakfast like the ones served up by Lucy ( you wont want any lunch) all freshly cooked and local produce as well.

Location of B & B is good, nice walk down hill to bay then a leisurely jog back up and sit outside watching world go by (ok forget the jogging bit)

Thats it then, well worth a visit, if you find better let me know
