“Excellent Location Clean Rooms Let Down By Poor Food In The Restaurant”
Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

Very impressed on arrival at the hotel ,young lady on reception , very helpfull and pleasant .Room clean with sea view . Decided to have dinner in the restaurant .Ordered chicken and was told it would take a few minutes longer than normal , 45 minutes later arrived ! very small portion , also ordered belly pork not very well cooked at all .Ordered pudding and custard very small amount of custard ! Also ice cream sundae no fruit! And the ice cream had chunks of ice in it . Mentioned politely to one of the waiters who said he would pass our complaint to the duty manager needless to say this was not done ! Following morning went for breakfast at 9 we had to ask the waitress where we could sit ! No proper explanation of what was served and what was self service and did not ask our room number?.Breakfast seemed fine until we ate the sausages which did not taste as it should !!! mentioned to the waitress who took them away did not follow up with us at all . Checked out , receptionist not interested in our complaint , and clearly not aware of it !!! Left very disappointed , after being very impressed on arrival !!!

We visited the hotel for an evening meal on two evenings. The food was excellent , best fish and chips I have ever had. Excellent beer as well and good atmosphere. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and service is very efficient.

This hotel is Fab! We have paid much more to others who call themselves "boutique hotels" and sometimes have had a less pleasant experience! our room was lovely and warm to sleep in, our steaks in the restaurant were cooked to perfection, the bar is great with a mix of guests and locals but the jewel in the crown here must be the staff! what a good bunch! I even managed to lock us out of our room and even though she was V.busy the girl in charge sorted it out for us with a smile!! the views/walks around are stunning. We shall certainly be back, soon I hope!!

Room Tip: we were upgraded to a room with a view and worth paying extra for.

We spent 3 nights at this very friendly hotel with views to die for. You cannot fault the staff they were helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure a pleasant stay. The room was beautiful, immaculately clean thanks to the efficient friendly housekeeper. The breakfasts are absolutely brilliant with locally sourced ingredients. Can't wait for our return trip.

Just had a lovely weekend. There's absolutely nothing we could complain about! The breakfast was excellent and the service was great! Bedrooms are nicely decorated and very warm also very comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a chilled weekend. We'll definitely be back. Jackie and Pete.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of January and it couldn't of been more perfect. The view from room 7 was outstanding, beyond words. Our room was light and roomy, food was excellent and staff certious, friendly but laid back. Couldn't do enough for you when asked. Happy staff make all the difference. Would definitely recommend the Victoria Hotel and we will surely be back again.

Having been to the Victoria Hotel several times with my then fiance we decided it would be the perfect venue for our wedding...and we weren't wrong. This hotel offers excellent value for money with every part of your wedding catered just to you, no package deal here...unless that's what you'd prefer. The rooms are spacious and grandly decorated with very comfortable beds...several of our wedding party booked rooms in the Victoria and they all complimented us on our choice of venue. Andy and his staff could not have been more helpful right from the moment we all arrived with our many bags of wedding attire lol. Nothing is too much trouble and even last minute changes were met with a smile and sorted quickly and with no fuss. The reception held in the marque gave stunning views over the whole of the bay with the sound of the sea a natural background music. All in all our entire wedding party had an excellent weekend and were extremely happy with the politeness and helpfulness of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views but the bay facing rooms are wonderful for the breath taking view of the...
