Smugglers Bistro and Accommodation

We stayed at the Boathouse and were treated like royalty the owners are lovely and friendly, they cannot do enough for you. Zimgrant was there when we were there, he had a domestic with his wife and this resulted in him being rude and abusive to everyone around him.

The owner Brent dealt with him calmly and politely. He apologised to all around although it clearly was not his fault.

If you are visiting Whitby and area this is the place ot stay. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and had a wide variety of choice. We will definitely return again.

We stayed at The Boathouse in a family room at the same time as the reviewer zimgrant. Please ignore that review - the guy came in drunk at 3:30am and argued with his wife at the top of their voices for over an hour, waking everyone with crying and door banging.

The owner apologised to everyone at breakfast even though it wasn't his fault. When the owner tackled this guy, HE became abusive (not the owner) and threatened him with TripAdvisor! I've written to TripAdvisor as an independent observer (I have nothing to do with the B&B). I sincerely hope that his review is removed as it is complete rubbish and really quite vindictive.

The Boathouse is a great little B&B with an excellent full English breakfast in a fantastic location. The owners are friendly, helpful and can't do enough for you. Some of the decor is a little dated, the TV was old and one set of curtains didn't quite fit the window but, really, that's picking holes given the style of property, the location and the great value for money. I honestly can't think of anything else.

My two boys loved Robin Hood's Bay even though it tiddled down all weekend - this did not stop the rockpooling fun. We as a family would thoroughly recommend Robin Hood's Bay and when we return, it will be to The Boathouse.

What a wonderful find in the heart of Robin Hood's Bay. A wonderful clean and comfortable haven with the perfect host in Brent who really understands the meaning of 'going the extra mile'! He is also a great cook and his breakfast was superb. We will definitely visit again. One night was not enough! Jo & Brent deserve every success.

Me and my husband went to robin hoods bay for a relaxing weekend. Initally we decided to camp but as all campsites were full but luckily Jo and Brent at the Boathouse rescued us. The Boat house is in a perfect setting yards away from the sea, the building is quirky and quaint and the rooms are very clean and comftable. We also had a look at the little house which is so sweet and the apartment which has beautiful sea views. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge choice of fruit and cereals and a delicious full english cooked by Brent. Overall we had a great stay and Jo and Brent are wonderful people. We look forward to returning for another fantastic experience.
