My wife and I stayed here with two other couples at the end of our Coast To Coast walk.
Lisa, our hostess, was very friendly and very helpful.
The location is at the bottom of the steep walk down from the upper part of town. It’s perfect for people wetting their feet in the North Sea after completing the Coast to Coast walk. It is about 150m from the water’s edge.
We stayed in the apartment immediately above Smuggler’s Inn. It was a very good room, clean and well appointed. Being a Friday night, there was a bit of noise from the street made worse by the fact we wanted a window open due to the warm weather. But it wasn’t disruptive enough to keep us awake very late.
We had dinner downstairs which was very nice – but heavily weighted towards seafood.
Because we had to leave early in the morning to catch our train from Scarborough, we missed our cooked breakfast. But Lisa gave us supplies so we could have continental breakfast in the apartment before catching the taxis she arranged for us.
Good value accommodation. I would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: The apartment is really good with separate bedroom.

This excellent Bistro is situated at the very bottom of the hill on the left as you walk down into the heart of Robin Hoods Bay. Tucked away in the heart of the Smugglers Den, Smugglers Bistro serves a romantic setting for a wonderful meal sourced from all local produce. We had the surf and Turf and the prawns and mussels and steak were cooked to perfection, a side of sauté potatoes made the meal complete. Immaculate tables with real linen napkins combined with the cosy atmos and impeccable service made for a fantastic evening meal after a hard days rock pool exploration in the Bay hunting for crabs. There is a fantastic selection of wines and real ales and ciders for the seasoned palette and the more selected tipplers. For toilets head out the door take an immediate left go left up the side of the building to the bed and breakfast facilities of the establishment and the wc is just inside the doorway on the right. Gorgeous Tiramisu and coffee with a crusty block of shortbread rounded the evening off nicely. A must visit for the romantics among us ;)

Booked a one night stay with a reservation at the bistro. Rooms are really homely, dinner was amazing and the cooked breakfast was the best I've had at a B and B. What sets this place apart though is the service. Lisa was a fab host, attentive at all times and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back! (Hopefully next time our Smart Car won't conk out on us!)

We stayed here just the one night for a break. Robin Hoods Bay must be one of the loveliest quaint little old fishing villages along the North East coast (a little treasure).

We were allocated the Studio room which although dark, suited the feel of this B & B. Our bed was comfortable and the room had all that we required for our stay. Having previously reserved a table at the Smugglers Bistro, we ate a superb evening meal and breakfast and we were well catered for.

If you are looking for a weekend break in a traditional little B & B then we would recommend the Smugglers. Robin Hoods Bay is a delight if you want peace and quiet. The pubs have roaring open fires. a cosy feel and friendly locals "That's what you get with northerners :-)".

The only suggestion I would make is perhaps that breakfast be served between 8.30 to 9.30am so you can have a little lay in if needed.

Cheers Lisa, hope to see you again in the future.

Recently had a return visit to Robin Hoods Bay and once again stayed at the Boathouse Rooms. This time stayed in the apartment that is comfortabe and well equipped with a homely feel and has the extra of a sea view.
If you enjoy Robin Hoods Bay this the place to stay, right by the sea.
Thanks again Lisa
