Not perfect but remember what you have paid! Nice room two windows overlooking hotel walls so no view. Complimenry tea & coffe and one bickie and one choc to last a 4 night stay. Hotel staff very nice & helpful. Breakfast well cooked and plenty of choice but 08.30 a bit late for us.No parking but carpark over the road at a cost. If Sightseeing buy a car park ticket from the post office (down the road same side as hotel) as this will cover you for car parks in Scarborough,Whitby and more. (full details on back of ticket.

Room Tip: Dont have a room over bar area as they have live music which can be heard.

We've stayed at the Grosvenor twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay on both occasions. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent and in decent sized portions. It is frequented by the locals, who are very friendly and welcoming. If there is a down side it is the parking..... you can use the car park, which is close by but at cost... but we found that if you went round the block, you could always find somewhere to park.....

It wasn't possible to book one room for three people, so we had no choice but to book a single and a double. However, when we arrived we were surprised to see that the double room had three proper beds with three sets of towels. And the single room had a king size with two sets of towels. The double with three beds would have done perfectly for us, but we were forced to book two rooms. So we basically feel cheated. The breakfast was alright: English to order and cereals/yoghurt/juice to take as you please. The Grosvenor has a pub with great food, also vegetarian options. The restaurant, however, was closed when we were there. It was only open two days a week, even during summer season. On tuesday nights you probably won't sleep before midnight because there is live music in the pub (an old-fashioned cover band). The rooms are located on the first floor, some rooms especially (the single e.g.) are right above the pub and you will literally hear all of the lyrics and people laughing and clapping. It's very loud. It stops around midnight. It's very annoying. Seriously.

Stayed in room 8 at the top of the hotel. Read a couple of reviews about people saying about the shower pressure being not too good. I did find this when getting in shower but after turning the nozzle to spray it was more than adequate. All the staff was friendly and bar food was lovely and couldn't get through it all. Same as breakfast, had full English first morning which again I couldn't finish and neither could him indoors and he loves his food. The morning after I went for a lighter breakfast of just scrambled egg on toast. Wholly moses it must of been made with around 4/5 eggs lol. Would definitely go back here.

We stayed at the Grosvenor for two nights so we could spend time with friends camping nearby, but with comfort, which is exactly what we found. The room was small for a double, with little circulation space, but had everything you need. We had asked for a room away from the bar and suffered no noise from pub customers or other guests.
The full english breakfast was good, and we ate in the restaurant on one night, which was also excellent value for money.
My wife found some of the decor a little overpowering, but not a worry for me!

just back from a 2 night stay at the Grosvenor hotel and have to say it is one of the best bed and breakfast hotels in the area. the rooms are very spacious and clean, we had room 2 with a four poster bed which was lovely. the breakfasts are 1st class and indeed if you decide to eat here in the evening you will not be disappointed the food is excellent!

Room Tip: room 2 is lovely with a 4 poster bed.
