Absolutely disgusted by our stay!! Dirty room...Made to feel a nuisance for complaining :( Gutted

When trying to get some compensation we were told that our one year old had had a free breakfast so they were not interested? I booked the room for four of us? The owners were fully aware how many of us would be eating food as the room was booked for four people? Rather confused at this response?

Main gripe...The room was dirty and needed a good clean...When trying to complain about this we were told that we didn't complain fast enough? Anyone with two tired small kids will know that you just want to get them to bed..There was a terrible smell on the carpet (It was clearly vomit) i Someone had obviously tried to clean it up with water and tissues as the carpet was wet through and had remnants of toilet paper stuck to it where it had been wiped...My baby crawled through it his hands and legs were wet through and smelt terrible!

Upon arriving in the room the travel cot had been placed over this area which is why it went undetected until bedtime...The issue of the owners is that we didn't complain soon enough? I had been ;sniffing' around the room trying to find out where the vomit smell was coming from to no avail until the travel cot was moved ready for bedtime...Then unfortunately our crawling baby found it and his legs and hands were wet through!! Gutted and disgusted!!

Why the owners are being argumentative about this is beyond me? If this was my business I would be have bent over backward to offer compensation for such a shocking stay..I have just been met with argumentative responses through booking.com?
I did go down to the bar area to ask for some cleaning things to clear it up but the bar was very busy so I did it as best as I could myself with baby wipes etc...

My other issue is that there was no hot water to wash/bathe the kids?? Isnt this just a basic requirement when staying in a room that you have paid £110 a night for? We thought it was laughable that we asked about the lack of water to be told that the kitchen had probably used it all?? Sorry but at 6pm the kids had been on the beach and we wanted to rinse them down in the shower..Yet another faff...Trying to clean them down on the bathroom floor with water heated up from the kettle?? Not acceptable and again..No apology just this is how it is because of the type of heating system we have ..Bye?!
We just decided to sit it out and make sure we were out of the room for as long as possible as it was too late and half term to find alternative accommodation :(
My one hope from writing this review is that the room will be cleaned properly and that no one else will have such a bad stay in the ahem 'Superior' family room

Room Tip: Take cleaning products

We visited here for tea, dog friendly. It was very busy and we did have to wait for food but definitely worth it, the food is lovely!! Reasonably priced, we had a 10%off voucher as we were staying at grouse hill campsite.

Recently returned from a short trip to Whitby. Hosts Urszula and Maksim really made you feel welcome and couldn't do enough for you. They had great knowledge of the area and despite their busy work load would certainly stop to chat. The rooms were very clean and spacious with coffee/tea facilities in the room. The food is extremely good and there is certainly plenty of it. They should feel proud of what they have achieved and would certainly recommend them without hesitation.

We went for a drink and a meal at the Flask inn, hoping to watch Liverpool versus Real Madrid, when I asked the barman if he was putting the football on he just replied no we are not having it on, shortly after he turned another family away that also wanted to watch the football

Room Tip: Didn’t have a room

Spent two nights in The Flask Inn and had a really enjoyable time. The proprietors, Maksim and Urszula, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued. Their welcome was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room we stayed in was excellent, very clean and comfortable. Tea making facilities were included and fresh bottled water was provided each day. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and served in a modern bright breakfast room. The Inn serves excellent meals at a reasonable cost and again portions were large; great after a day’s walking! Good choice of beers and lagers were on offer. Maksim and Urszula found time to stop from their busy work to have chats with us throughout our stay and proved to be perfect hosts, faultless!! The Flask Inn is in a great location near to many coastal walks and there is a bus stop right outside the property. This is a perfect place for a three/ four night break and we will certainly be coming back on a regular basis. Maksim and Urszula have certainly made their mark on the Fkask Inn and deserve top marks for their management.
